Dave.0 that first shot really makes the F56 nose look really BIG! Today, a bunch of us MINI5280 folks took a nice long drive to the South of Denver, it was dry roads and good weather. Sunday I get to clean both MINIs. Don
Today , we went to see what it's all about to be a delegate in my county, a great experience...Rogue, as usual stared down all the other cars in the parking lot.
I drove back from Asheville, NC today. Nice weather, windows open and light traffic. Since monday I put around a thousand miles on the Mini, and enjoyed every minute of it. That was the high point of my week. Saw probably a half dozen Minis all week, but waved at them all. Hope y'all had a good week too.
Daydreamed about my MINI... While doing Spring yardwork.... Wife's doing horse stuff up in Cleveland with the daughter this weekend.... Thought I would surprise her when she gets back on Monday.... So I..... Pruned some bushes... Cleaned out the flower boxes... Grass seeded some bare spots in the yard... Sprayed ant killer around the walls by the kitchen... Cut down a redbud tree that was planted in the wild from the butt of a passing bird... Man.... I gotta get the MINI road worthy....
Washed my car today. Cleaned, detailed and sealed a friends BBS Summer wheels today. We are putting them on later today and taking off her Winter beater wheels.
The weather finally allowed me to get a carwash and as a bonus I finally tried Simple Green in the engine bay. Also got some white lithium applied to my door hinges to quiet down that adorable little squeak the driver's side makes every time I open it.
Meant to post this yesterday. GIR surround by all types of CR MINIs at Saturdays C&C. He was feeling a little out of place. I spent most of the morning wiping GIR down, the pollen was crazy. Didn't do anything yesterday but GIR spent the day collecting more pollen. :mad2:
Tein springs on the Koni Yellows, new Moog stiffer endlinks up front (with zerks!), oil change, engine mounts (TSW and a new dogbone), and a quick blast to sort it out. May bring 'er up 1/2" as those Teins sit awfully low for our potholed Pittsburgh streets... but she handles well. Needed to stiffen the Konis about 1/2 turn to compensate. May trim the bumpstops just a tad too. Next it's onto Daughter's R53, Dixie horn and a suspension upgrade, her H&R's are rusty, just surface rust but still... a good excuse...
I did too! Except I had sushi at this little place I had no idea existed called Tensuke Express on Kenny Rd. Amazing food for the cost!! Then we went to see Cap at the Arena Grand. It was a good saturday.
Went and got some Chili Red paint for my hood scoop. Big thanks to eminiparts! On a down note I found out my wife's Sequoia has a timing belt not a chain. It should be replaced every 90K miles. She has 240,000 on the original belt!:yikes: I have ordered a timing belt kit. I sure hope it holds a few more days.:fingerscrossed:
240K on the original belt. Go buy a Lotto ticket quick. Drove the Countryman, thank you dear wife, I cleaned it yesterday, snow this morning. Don
