I did nothing with the MINI I was supposed to get back from the Body Shop today. BUT NO!!! Now Tuesday. Dammit
Made an appointment for tuesday to have my factory stripes removed, hood buffed out, and new competition stripes and hashmarks applied. Also also ordered a license plate frame/badge holder and a couple badges from GoBadges. G2 Caliper Paint Kit should be here next week, so should have everything done in preparation for MOTD except the new wheels. They will depend on the outcome of the pissing match between me and Uncle Sam about my tax refund. Doubt that that will be resolved in time.
Washed it again, and when I got home I cleaned the interior and cleaned the pollen off. It's sealed up in the garage now patiently awaiting tomorrow's club run. The run begins at the local mini dealer, hopefully the parts department will be open. I could really use a new set of floormats. Universal floor mats+MINI=FAIL.
My gf surprised me with a folding tow hook and a new rear MINI emblem! The one on the car has one of the sides broken off, so it will be a nice little improvement to replace that.
Today I took my MINI out for a good Spring romp to run a few errands and burn up some 93 and Meth.
Took RDNZL out tonight to the monthly meet n eat to Granite Falls Brewing Company, great ride, food and brew!
A wash and then I am switching to the summer wheels/tires (finally!). Also in the middle of chasing a code it threw last night. My scanguage is not helpful for this car I guess <says code is u3fff>. So I will need to take it in....dang.
My 9 month old clutch blew out with a bang last night while going home from work. Lost all gears and coasted MINI into a bus stop pull out. Called BCAA (AAA) and told them to send a flat deck. They sent a tow truck who tried to get his hoist under my car and cracked the lower air deflector. Then he called back for a flat deck. Two flat decks arrived an hour later and argued who would take my car to the MINI dealer. I called the dispatcher. Going down to the MINI dealer now to see how much of this is going to be covered under their warranty on the clutch job.
Got a half mile from my garage this morning, check engine light lit and the motor started running on 3 cylinders, just fubar my day. MINI towed it to the dealer with me riding along, turned out the #2 cylinder coil went bad. They replaced the coil and the plug for that cylinder and now all is well with the world. Anyway better now than in two weeks heading to MOTD.
I was going to pressure wash the house and deck today. I started and was 1/2 done the front and the 5-6 year old pressure washer pump died. . I took it apart ordered a new pump on Amazon and it will be here Monday. So without a pressure washer I cleaned and detailed the motor in my MINI and tomorrow morning it will be wash and wax day.
Drove my MkII Cooper S down to California's first service station for a photo shoot with all the local British car folks. Had a great time as to be expected...
