Drove a pile of southern Ohio roads, about 300 miles worth today. Yesterday the Blu one & I did 350 on those same back roads. Lots of fun, but a bunch of work doing course layout for this years Riverrun. Sure glad my good friend Bill doesn't mind writing routes while I have fun driving. The winter has not been kind to Ohio back roads & bridges. Lots of re-routing. Tomorrow is wash day to clean 650 miles of mud, road apples, fish & squirrel guts off me MINI.
I didn't really do it today. But two days ago I put my hood scoop on. And yesterday we put up the tent and let it air out. Dragon Dragon Dragon!!!
I'm well & truly tuckered out. Drove so much I wore the color off my world. Did a bunch of this last night & this morning. Photo by Wild Bill Attaboy! Not looking forward to cleaning the dirt ball MINI in the garage. :frown2:
Changed the oil in Skooby. 0w40 Mobil 1 & a bottle of Techron in the tank. Spark-plugs later this week.
Today I removed all my belt line trim and striped the 3M black tape off and spray plasti-dipped them all. I also cleaned and resprayed my side scuttles turn signals with night shades. Tuesday, it goes in for an alignment.
Thought you were going old school chrome for a minute. At least that dippy whip protects the chrome under it.
Just drove the MINI today, but I washed, clay barred and waxed our Volvo wagon. Jeez, that thing must be twice as big as the MINI! It plum wore me out. Dave
Oh I also scuffed and painted my RMW aluminum coolant explanation tank and Forge power steering tanks. I finally got tired of polishing them to a mirror finish so I coated them with a high heat wrinkle finish paint so the match the valve cover I did this winter. Also the straight back exhaust has had the big tips de-chromed and painted with the same hight heat wrinkle finish paint.
Teaser pics. More pics and bolt-ons to come next weekend hopefully.. Assuming it bolts on easier then these did..Still got to do some final adj. on these but was just happy to finally get them on over the weekend..
↑My next door neighboor painted those. He showed me some pictures after they were painted, those look sick on the car.
Thanks. Did he tell you what I'm doing to the bumper, and does your neighbor do paint work on the side!! I might could have saved some money!! haha!!!
He said something about the bumper, but I don't remember the details. I'm not sure if he still paints on the side. It seems like he's at Pat's seven days a week. I suppose I can ask next time I see him.
The most exciting thing I did this weekend was Laps around the Short North waiting to pick my fiance up after she went to a drag show at Axis. By goodness that was nightmarish. I had to do this for 45 mins because the show ran late. Damn drag queens!! Im still bitter because I got nothing in return for giving up my evening to be a DD. NOTHING!
Her and the other girls had a blast. And got extremely intoxicated. Hence why I didn't get any of the benefits of being a good fiance and giving up a beautiful Saturday evening to be a DD.
Today I sealed my new Chill Red functional hood scoop for my R53. l also installed all the parts I pained yesterday back on my car.
Just finished washing mine to remove the wax in preparation for the new stripes install tomorrow. Now, of course, 100% chance of rain tomorrow.
