vetsvette no harm meant in it. It is as Dave O. said, what they call them. I only said MOM gang stripes cause a lot of them have those on their cars.
Yep, that's what we call them....MoM Gang Stripes. It started after Nathan had them put on Gnat, then another set appeared on another MoM car, and then another and then..... Personally I see the reference as a compliment
Had a break in the weather, sort of, so I gave GIR a bath and a blow dry, yes a blow dry. By the time it came to wipping him down my hands were freezing so out came the leaf blower, wife thought it was funny.
I use a leaf blower, and have for years, to dry my car. I even bring it to the Dragon were we almost end up washing our cars about once a day. Remember the less you "touch" your paint with anything the more you decrease the chance of adding scratches to the finish. :ihih:
I returned the Paceman courtesy car and swapped it for a Clubman. The Paceman was just too big :eek6:. My wife couldn't reach the hatch handles to pull the lid down when trying to close it. Never thought I would say a MINI was too big, but here we are.... As for my MINI, the service manager showed me the broken new clutch they installed last year. The clutch plate looked brand new so he knows I didn't abuse it, but the hub that grabs onto the engine's driveshaft was stripped totally clean. Needless to say, they are covering the labor under warranty. However, I am having them replace the whole thing with a single mass flywheel set up, as well, since they have everything open, they are replacing the transmission oil seals and gaskets. It's still going to cost me over $1000 (CDN). :cryin:
Those stripes first appeared on the Detroit Tuned MINI at MOTD a few years back, then others stated with them too. A bunch of us in Mid-Ohio Motoring (MoM) added them and started calling them gang stripes. Now you know the legend of the "Gang Stripes". It sorta makes sense since on the Corvettes they are Grand Sport stripes.
I was waved at by someone in a blue Justa this morning on Winchester Pike. This was like the second Mini driver that has actually waved at me. Shut up. I was excited.
Custom Built 4" Exhaust Tips And Rear Muffler Delete, It now sounds the way it should have from the Factory..... Powder Coat time.........
Drove it to the auto zone to gather parts for the old ford aka "the tetanus express". Sometimes it is fun to go fast in a straight line and my r50 just doesn't like to do that.
I need to do a muffler delete so I don't have to hear the scratchy sounds coming from the gearbox anymore.
