Oh that was fun driving today. First real drive at all on the summer tires, it's not quite 50, wet and the side streets are covered with flower petals from the trees. Slid around with glee...
While all you folks get ready for fun at the Dragon, Pat and I took the Countryman up to Estes Park for a bit of picture taking, Hwy 7 and Peak to Peak Hwy 72, some Moose and to have a great lunch. Pictures will be on FB and G+ later tonight. It was a great and calm day of driving, needed some quality MINI driving time, the CM loves the Mountains. Don
Washed, polish buffed, applied sealer, and RainX and letting it sit over night in the garage. I also cleaned and dressed the inside including the glass and installed my V1 radar and my GPS mount. Also installed my harness for the Dragon. :ihih:
Went to the "Bloody Awful" event in Raleigh this evening. Freshly detailed car driving through the thunderstorms accompanying a tornado warning. Dodged downed tree branches and assorted crap in/on the road. Disappointing event. Food was good, no swag, and no test drives. Now have to spend tomorrow cleaning the car again so I can drive in the rain to The Dragon.
Just installed ... Installed my new Mini door lights! Took all of five minutes, and they look great. Thanks Way Motor Works!
Heck, I was in Raleigh Wednesday and Thursday. Ate at Carolina Ale House on Wednesday night and then Jimmy V's last night. Down there visiting Duke Energy.
Denver Convoy of two with WTMF Worked on how to fly a full size Colorado flag on my husband's MINI (I.E. the designated MINI for MOTD ) So excited......This is absolutely EPIC.
Kept it tidy and warm in the garage during today's storm. Drove it to a new BBQ joint last night though. Loved the drive, as always, but the jury's still out on the food... :frown2:
Sorry but you really need to come to MOTD and taste real local Southern BBQ. I am sure Cali BBQ can't touch the good old boys BBQ. :drool
Speaking of BBQ... My buddy and I cooked up a bunch of butts for a catering gig yesterday before I left for th "Bloody Awful" event.
A big busy day! Today I installed a new Pioneer digital media player. I settled on this one because I've got an old iPod Classic I'm going to plug into the REAR USB port to use as a digital jukebox. No more USB plugs hanging off the front of my dash!. I really don't need it to play CDs. Theoretically I'm going to install some new door speakers too, but lemme tell ya, the new head unit (with an equalizer) made such a HUGE difference in the sound that I may not bother with the speakers. I also plastidipped/dechromed several of the largest pieces of chrome on the car. Handy that lots of cardboard from our kitchen renovation is still around. I bet you can tell I couldn't figure out how to pull the electrical or mechanical for the rear hatch. Yeah, I still need to do the two lower grills. A much more complicated project! I'm pretty happy with the end results, even if it will need some touchup. Any advice on removing that Airport Motors sticker from the back? It doesn't want to peel up.
