I have relatives in town and need to show them around. So MINI will get a well deserved day off. I booked a rental car for 1 day. It only cost $20. with unlimited mileage. Should I send the MINI in for more mods? I don't know why anybody would bother to actually own a car bigger than a MINI. But then again, I have no idea why MINI would build a bigger car than, say a regular hatch or a Clubman. :frown2:
Took it in for MINI Clubman Day at Safelite Auto Glass for a new windscreen. That's mine on the right.
I lamented how dirty Black Top got overnight with the combination of tree sex in the air and a light mist of rain making it stick. Then, according to Automatic, I drove her to work and magically got 53 MPG while doing it!
Had it loaded onto yet another flat bed and hauled to the shop that will overhaul my clutch and cv boots. I can't wait to get it back next week.
or "sex dust" or "tree jizz"...... whatever you want to call it, this time of year sucks for keeping a dark car clean.
I took Tigger to the Vet to get some checks done. I think a trip to the Vet is worth a ride in a red leather wrapped gocarocket.
Tried to reinstall the starter after getting a freshly completed adapter from Hi-Torque, only to realize they forgot to machine a relief cut for the lower mounting bolt. Off to the local machinist tomorrow for me.....
Washed, Wiped down with distilled apple vinegar. Clay bar, Then sealed with Synthetic Wax. All in Preparation for Bimmerfest on Saturday. :beer
Would you mind explaining what this achieves? I'm really interested to know. Especially since vinegar is acidic, so I would expect it to contribute to rust.
I blacked out my belt line chrome this morning and wiped Black Top down so last night's rain wouldn't leave spots. After that, my longest round trip drive so far: 120ish miles today to visit a friend, see a model I'm prepping to do a shoot with, do some grocery shopping at the asian market, and then home. Tonight or tomorrow hopefully I'll figure out why Automatic has suddenly added 10+MPG to my car's stats--it insists I averaged about 59 MPG on most of today's trip!
