So this is really yesterday's report. Today I just was happy that Black Top started up after yesterday's engine cleaning. I mean, I was careful, but you never know! Yesterday was lovely weather, but I had no where I had to be, so I washed Black Top and took a first pass at, well, I won't call it engine compartment detailing, let's just call it cleaning. I also Penetroled the rest of the black trim and man that looks great now. Then some Rain-X on the windows which I was pretty sure I had polished up properly, but this morning's drive to work looked like I was riding through fog, so some more polishing is in order. Before Penetrol, I figured out how to get the right rear trim clips back into place. (Hint: It's called force!) Here, have a crappy "before" pic. I was also disappointed yesterday that my floor jack hadn't magically fixed itself, or at least leaked in some way that would show me what was wrong with it. I stared pretty hard this weekend at some dual action polishers at AutoZone. The more I look, the more I see little scratches and such that I need to tackle. I haven't been able to find one that attaches to an air compressor--does such a beast exist?
Took the Grand-babies out for a long drive on the country roads around home. I think the Granddaughter is trying to get her hair to match the Mini. It's a work in progress says she. :biggrin5:
Went to my ORSA MAC class at the ALU campus at Ft. Lee. Now sitting in the hotel doing some indefinite & definite integrals and integration by parts. :eek6::cryin::shocked::deadhorse:
We will have to wait and see. Maybe if all the thin skinned non R56 owner get off their elitist ass's and quit crying about people not liking the R56's. It's seems to me you cannot have your own opinion around here without some a-hole crying that we are all haters of the latest MINI has to offer.
Well personally I hate it too! (you already knew that) Saw an F56 following an R56 and didn't even recognize the F56 as a MINI until it was too late... The thing was white, and possibly the worst looking one I have seen yet! Please go back to being this guy...
It's an ugly POS, but we can't say that. We all have to be all unicorns and rainbows about the greatest MINI ever built which is complete BullS**t
Yep... I use an electric DeWalt DA sander, with thick foam pads from Harbor Freight... Then its just what compounds of polish and wax you use. Spraying a foam pad with A good tire shine, then buffing the plastic trim keeps it looking new for quite some time.
