Today I wet sanded my bumper w/ 2000 and will let it sit in the sun to bake /cure. More wet sanding tomorrow and maybe more Chili Red.
Nice.... I'm always soooo confused about this.... Is it proper to call it.... "Crossed a kilometerage kilometerstone this morning on my way to the office."
Drove to the parts store to dump my oil tank only to find out their oil tank full. Guess I have to learn to call first, this is not the first time this has happened. I did pick up 2 bottles of Techron on sale, sort of liquid walnut blasting.
Finally got Scooter out for a little romp, short city trip, then I decided to do a fast wash and Hydro. So much better, now to go out and detail the wheels, before it hits 90 degrees. It is sunny and 88.3 now. Don
Installed the Rogue Dragon Eyes I got from the M/A store on my wife's MCS. I was fortunate to get these, as I guess only one or two sets remain!
Wheels done, 90.7 degrees on Wunderground but 92 per Scooter. Geez! Guess I will hold off mowing..... :frown2: Don
On Saturday, finally worked up the nerve to peel off my front bumper (cover) and install my Hella driving lights. I wanted mid-mounted ones (directly in front of the bumper) and their mounts attach to the steel bumper reinforcement / the real bumper. Very solid/sturdy, but a PITA to get to. Lots of fiddly fasteners, peeling away the fender liners, loosening about 1/2 of the fender arches. But we got it done! Pleased with the results...now just need a dark road to try them out! In a drastic state of disassembly. Yes: those are, in fact, the OutMotoring instructions laying on the engine! And, all done:
Looks great & I'm sure you'll agree on your first dark country drive well worth the effort. If it was easy everyone would do it. Well done!
I discussed my MINI for a few minutes with the ringleader of the GNAT kidnappers today. Or is that MINInappers?
