Gave the MINI a good spa treatment this morning in preparation for the drive to Seattle tomorrow for some great historic race car races and a visit with a fellow motorer.

And thanks to Dave.0 for the reminder on the steel wool for the windows. I had forgotten about that trick some time ago and had to dig out my bag of #0000 steel wool.

Make sure you take some #0000 steel wool with you on your trip. It really makes cleaning off road bugs at fill ups fast and easy.

I was the OCD one that posted bout the leaf blower. I use it every time I was my car and even bring it to the Dragon.

The reason I dry most of my car with a leaf blower is because the less you touch your paint without a properly lubricated MF towel the less a chance you have of stretching it. Water is not a lubricate and quick detailers like Prima Hydro help break down and remove water and is a must if you have hard water.

Crap!:mad2: Went to take my S to Columbus today for some other work and it started shrieking about 15 miles from home.:eek6: It might be the water pump or the fan belt, or something else...just hope it's not a major problem. I drove back home, flashers on and heat turned all the way up...windows and sunroof wide open. Uneventful trip and the car is now lodged in its garage space until I can get an appt. and AAA to have it flatbedded over. So much for driving the baby for awhile...:frown5:

The ONLY good things are I got home safely, and I have my wife's S and my Cooper to drive in the meantime. But I miss my S already....:cryin:

Drove over to Best Motor Werks to pick up Blake. He dropped his R53 off to get the water pump replaced.

I hope so, too, but my wife is driving the S today, as she prepares for a trip to visit her family overseas. That leaves me with one MINI...my Cooper...lol...and IT has the dreaded CVT [which is why I don't drive it much]! :rolleyes5: If I didn't have BAD luck, I wouldn't have ANY luck at all.

Re-torqued the spark plugs, changed the cabin filter, and re-routed the OBD cable/moved the Scan-Gauge to the top of the dash (I originally mounted it on the knee bolster to the right of the steering wheel).

Took my car out for a run today and tomorrow I am heading out to my brother for fireworks.

Looks like I will have to finally fill up my car with fuel since the Dragon.

Took my friend out or a drive. His SI just couldn't keep up that well. He was definitely working harder than me.

For the very first time in six years I've added 1/2 qt of oil between 5K oil changes. Hmmmm.

Actually got my wife to ride with me in the Blimey2.0 to the local brewery. With the 4pt harness. Which took some cajoling.

Thought my day would end with a drive. Nope! Went to my dads and put in the aux cord and then started to head home and absolutely destroyed a wheel on a pothole. My dad sledged it back enough to hold air and get me home. Nick (MRNTD) had an extra set of wheels so I went and borrowed them and enjoyed a little firework action with his family. I'm happy and grateful to be surrounded by such great people.
