I finally had the chance to install my new to me rear calipers with brass bushings and stainless lines from Detroit Tuned. So happy to not have any dragging calipers now! I then tossed the keys to my dad so he could take the R53 out for a spin. He came back smiling saying its a go-kart with a roof. I'm also glad to hear that he's planning on keeping his 996 so that gives me more changes to take that out too.
Aired up the tires on my wife's car and filled the tank for her big move to the airport and off to visit her family for 7 weeks bright and early tomorrow. On Thursday, I'm off to Denver and her poor MINI will sit at the Park and fly til I return the following Monday. then, it will be time to see what is ailing MY S, as I will have to have it flatbedded to Columbus for a few days.:frown5:
Washed off all of the bug cadavers after the drive back from Seattle. Averaged better than 35mpg again, and that with several triple digit runs.
Took my car out today to run some errands with the wife and I finally filled my tank with almost 13 gal of Shell 93 @ 4.15 a gallon.
I took it down and got it smogged this morning. The State got their $$ and I've got the privilege to continue to burn fossil fuel for the next two years without worries!
Let me get this right you only have to smog every 2 years? WTF your state has all the smog. (Cough BS cough) :mad2: In PA if we live near the city of Filth-a-delphia we have to smog every year.
They make plenty of it here... $25 every two years, and among the highest registration fees. Luckily I've got a second house in a non emissions controlled county... Where do I register the MINI?
The smog we get is now increasingly being carried by the jet stream from China.... We sent them our jobs and they sent us their smog..... Seems fair... China's exports linked to western U.S. air pollution - CNN.com
Washed 1,000 miles of road grime off, put a new coat of wax on and filled up with cheaper 93 than I saw anywhere else over the previous 5 days.
They only smog test cars in major population centers, here in Washington State. I live out in the boonies, so no smog test.
