In Maryland emissions testing done every two years, a truly money making scam for the bluest of blue states.
I feel kinda bad. I only have enough gas in it to get to work till payday, with the wedding and house bills I am beyond broke, so my poor Mini sat in the driveway since friday evening till this morning on the way to work.
Yesterday, my MINI decided I needed to work on my tan a little in Bryantown, MD. So, it shredded the serpentine belt and made me wait for a tow where there were no shade trees. Thankfully, the tensioner tool is tucked in the trunk at all times... just in case. Got her back up and running today.
Drove it on down to the VBAC dinner meeting tonight and then six if us tested out our driving skills at the newly opened MB2 indoor karting track. Had a blast to say the least!
Not a bad idea.....my belt tensioner won't do me any good hanging on my tool box while I am 200 miles away on the side of the road. You should be able to get a belt almost anywhere, but a tensioner??? Na.. I don't think so. And it sure doesn't take up much room.
Patiently waiting for it to cool so I can swap in a fresh upstream o2 sensor. Hopefully the annoying yellow light will finally turn off.
I manually drove my manual MINI from work to my house.... Felt good rowing through the gears... [ame=http://youtu.be/cwYPCFfbhZM]Fawlty Towers: Basil versus Manuel - YouTube[/ame]
Gave the MINI the evening off. Took the Babs & roadster out for a romp on the back roads to Utica for a samich & ice cream at Ye Olde Mill. Think I'm driving the roadster more than the MINI lately.
Took my squeeze to Utica too..... Mmmmmmm Velvet Ice cream.... Soooo good... Did you grease the bearing on the water wheel Chuck?
Took the wife and Countryman to Outback for a nice dinner, left the puppy in her kennel. Outback was better than usual, new cook I suspect. Enjoy the night. Don
Waxed and detailed for car show at Portland International Raceway, for the historic races this weekend.
Pulled the blackout decal off the boot and applied newley CC'd boot handle. Hopefully I will get the CC'd dash in this weekend.
Opened the bonnet checked the fluids, closed bonnet. Took my 3" random orbital to the front bumper & removed a few clear coat scratches that were bugging me. Added a bit of prima to the area & called it good. Some folks would have removed the bumper & rebuilt it, not me I'm LAME. Next week it is supposed to be in the low 70's here. Full detail here I come.
