Not something I like thinking about..... You passing yourself..... Especially in a small inclosure like a MINI hardtop..... Now, in a Vert, it probably wouldn't be so bad.... But still, the horror of it all.....:D

On the track, I've passed myself at 80 MPH... well, my rear bumper passed the front bumper, then the front bumper passed the rear one again. That happened 1 or 2 more times until I finally came to rest in the infield and I caught my breath.

My instructor then looked over at me and very casually said "Well... I guess we found the limits of that turn... lets get back out there."

Wow, that would be a time when, easy to clean, "leatherette" seats, would come in handy. :D

It hadn't rained in weeks, so the infield was dry dirt with yellow, brittle grass. Because you have to run with both side windows rolled down and because I slid sideways through the dirt/grass for quite a ways, it was like someone tried to throw a full bucket of dirt/grass through the car... in the driver's side window and out the passenger's side window. I was picking grass out of the headliner for several months.

I have been to several DE events at the same track since this OTE (off track experience), but I still pucker when I come up to that turn.

I know that I made a full 1.5 revolution spin before going off the pavement (backwards) and took atleast 1 more turn in the dirt. I broke the bead on the two driver's side tires and they pulled fistfulls of grass out of the inside of the tire.

Today I had to pass the keys to the MINI off to my wife to drive back and forth to work. My parents are in town and I needed the additional space of her SUV.

I knew I was going to track my car and easy to clean seats were a MUST. :ihih:

Yeah. I lost it at Street of Willow going CCW through the blowpass. Same sorta thing. Windows down. Soft dust/dirt on top of hard pack. Went off sideways. Took two weeks to get most of it and I still find little piles in the tiniest places.

Yup, I definitely laughed out loud when I read that...and pictured it in my head.

Too funny...but probably not so much while in the moment, eh?

Washed all the dust off my MINI, deposited there from the local neighborhood construction. It will look nice for a few hours until it starts all over again tomorrow......

Its the construction around the corner that causing a real mess. My car has never been so dirty before even after the River Run gravel road excursion.

Not only dirt, but they are rude in the manner they park too.
