I'm using NM's STB and have had it for over a year. No clearance issues and it handles the +50ftlbs of torque I've added just fine. I went with m7's shield because it has aerogel insulation for a backing. The NM shield has nothing. If you look at my sig. everything there works or is long gone!

    RUN TIME!!

Getting Beelzebub ready for a West Coast MINI club run this PM. TP's set, all clean and shiny, full tank, radio batt. charged and route map on board. Off for +90mi in San Diego's mountains, then to clean out a Sonic Burger and finally to a drive-in to watch Cars 2 with 15 of my buddies. Do MINI's cause second childhood syndrome? LOL

    Hah....
I'm sitting at the dealer for warranty maintenance. Was expecting only a brake fluid change.
Turns out I'm also getting a oil change with oil filter and micro filter for the cabin. I also mentioned the "cold start rattle", which they will look into as well. Happy dayz....

Washed it early this morning and really saw how many paint chips I got on the front from the winter. I need to buy some of that touch spray paint from WMW I JUST saw.

I put on some bonnet stripes changed the clutch on the A/C compressor, changed the top passenger strut mount, installed the reinforcement plates on top of the struts, oh and changed out the pan gasket that was leaking on my 5 speed so it got a gear oil change as well. Yesterday did a center exit exhaust conversion.

Vacuumed her out with our brand new Dyson hand held. Nothing but he best for my MINI. Now my wife wants to use it in the house, so what's up with that?

Artemis and I went to a Cars 2 rally today with my local club. We motored up to our local theatre, watched the movie, then had lunch together.
    Good times

Well, here's an interesting observation on my part. Since my service work last Saturday (installed new chain tensioner), I've noticed a marked change in my exhaust note. It no longer has that nice loud "Rasp" shifting between 1st and 2nd. It's still there, just greatly subdued.:(:(:(

I called and talked to service. Nope, they didn't do a software change up-grade (sure don't want any change that affects a dulling of the "Torque Steer"). They said I'm probably feeling the result of a tighter tension on the cam shaft chain, keeping the valves "on time" better. I did notice the engine runs smoother, idles smoother. Sure miss that exhaust "Rasp" though.....:cryin::cryin::cryin:

Got the droopy scoop replaced today. Between that and the new mirror caps, she looks nearly new! The dealer put the MINI heat shield on the bonnet, and I'm going to supplement that with one I got from Out Motoring, which will stick to the bonnet under the screwed on one from MINI.

That oughta keep her nose from getting out of whack. ;)

I have a new lower front grille (from a 2010), the fenderwell side of the brake ducts (from a 2011), and some SCEET ducting.

Gonna grab my dremel and some mounting hardware and see what happens... :D

I found out, while getting my first 'official' oil change and maintenance that I've got an urrepairable nail hole in my right rear run flat. So, now that I have a legitimate excuse to get rid of them, I've ordered new wheels TU-3 » Voxx Road Wheels | Voxx Wheels | Gfx Wheels | BG rod works and tires (Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 205/50R-16 91V XL VB).

Before winter comes back, I'll get a set of snows to put onto the OEM rims.

Pulled the noisy drivers side front wheel hub assembly off. Will get a replacement tomorrow and put it back together.
