I've got a long thread over at the sewing site that was started long before MA existed. The build was very heavy custom work that took me several months to complete. No how-to is coming on this one. I've been having regulator problems for years and I'm hoping that this new Powertank unit will fix the problem (CO2 regs are usually made for higher pressures and when I dial 'em down to 150psi, they start leaking). The horns reside where the back left muffler used to be. The CO2 tank and regulator are protected inside of a PVC box (an electrical connection junction box from Home Depot - look to the right of the horns in the pics) and it is all triggered by a Bowden cable (think 10-speed bicycle brake cable) that is actually a throttle control for a Cessna aircraft, located next to the emergency brake. Got up early this morning and drove the MoM Fall Leafpeeper route down through the Hocking Hills. No traffic, cool weather for good horsepower and some relaxing solitude!
Sounds like fun Mark. Me I got out the jack out & swapped to snow shoes. ut: Should have tagged along with you.
Drove to MAG to get both vanity mirrors, both door sills, and windshield wipers replaced. Strolled around looking at the cars on the lot.
I just installed my new TSW engine mount, flushed the brake fluid to MOTUL 600 and tried on my new track wheels and tires! Loads of fun! Oh yeah... and I got the new regulator installed on my air horn! IT'S ALIVE!!!
Was at MAG yesterday. Sales crew has changed again and they don't have a clue. Decided to order my new MINI from another dealer.
I have a co-worker whose wife is in the process of getting a MINI through MAG and they aren't thrilled with the service they are getting. The car was suppose to be here this week and still hasn't even left the other dealership (which I'm not even sure they know about yet).
The service is still good ....the sales staff looks and act like they just got out of Jr. High. They also just brought some arrogant kid over from the VW store as the new MINI manager. I've bought cars from them for 18 years and after the way these kids talked down to me yesterday I'm moving on.
When I was there looking at a clubman they were less than energetic. I'm not really sure they care about selling cars anymore. Didn't even try to get my business. Especially when I was looking at a car that had been on the lot for months. Probably go to Cincinnati and try them out if I decide to go with a new one again.
That is a pretty sad state of affairs hope they figure it out be fore they lose all their new MINI customers. FWIW 6 years ago when I bought mine from them I thought the sales staff didn't care either. The service experience was good though.
I drove it three laps on the brand new, Ridge Motorsports Park. The Ridge Motorsports Park Salish Sea MINI Motoring Club was the first one marque club to lap the track! Last April, it was a stump farm. Now it's a 2.6 mile track! They only finished paving last Saturday! Dave
New (to me) Konig feathers with nt01 DOT-R 205/40/17 (edited for accuracy... stupid iPhone!) I've had em in the garage for a while, but this is the first fitment of the whole package to the car
We took a nice brisk little drive in the local twisties with the CM, the DD route is a little hum-drum and short. The CM needed to burn off a little carbon and I wanted to test the wind buffeting, since we are getting 80mph gusts. :eek6: My MCS continues to collect dust, perhaps this week will be better. Need a new surface on the local track.
MetroplexMINI monthly meeting at Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. Once a year they let us come sample the brews and have our monthly meeting in the brewery. A perfect day... MINIs, a Mini, great beer and wonderful MINI peeps! For those of you interested, we will have Rahr at the Brew Swap! Rahr & Sons Brewing Company
Could there be a JCW coming available sometime soon? Seriously though, I don't blame you. They never really acted like they wanted my business either. Not that I want them to chase me down when I am pulling into the lot like they do at some other companies.....
Didn't do anything to the MINI but rather for the MINI. I am running out of room to store the wheels so I stumbled on these wheel racks online at HomeDepot. They are not in the store but ship free if you buy something for an additional $.04. I just bought 2 racks so I could get the wheels up outta my way. Since I have a pole barn and no 2x4 stud walls, I built a lumber rack years ago that is lagged into the girts and purlins. Nice and sturdy. I would have rather put these up higher but didn't feel like framing all that up.
