I think she needs to be driven more than once a day. The thing about R53 MINIs...they like to be flogged.
Sounds like this house, 1 gets driven or the Jeep, my 07 sits until the sun shines and I can get 3 hrs into the Mountains. I did gas up the CM and use it for errands today, the CM will hold lots of kitty litter. Don
Had a track day at Summit Point yesterday, three of the four sessions were in the wet, just made it more fun passing those high horsepower Corvettes, Mustangs and a couple of AMG Mercs.:biggrin5:
I had the great pleasure of meeting Bruce Qvale and reconnecting with Joe Huffaker Jr while at the 2014 SCCA Runoffs. We shared info and a few stories about my '70 Austin Cooper S that was once owned by Bruce. A very great opportunity to be sure. An invite from Joe to bring the car to his Sonoma shop is certainly something I look forward to doing in the near future.
It's a grey rainy day (check local listings) so we took it to a used book sale (where Herself scored a bag full) then out for hot wings, waffle fries and a cool brew (locally brewed, of course) and finally to keep Herself happy and since I'm not into cycle riding in the rain, we spent some time in a couple of antique stores.
We delivered some last minute supplies to my crew. They're catering a post wedding party at a local winery. While there, I discovered that the owner has a '14 Mini. To the best of my knowledge, counting mine, her car brings the total number of Minis in this county of 830 square miles to three!
I went to MINI of Loveland today to get gaskets. Too bad they only had half of the ones on my shopping list.
Haven't you noticed each time a new part gets put in, the car handles & drives so much better? Mine does everytime. It reciprocates love better than any other I've owned.
It's funny...this is the first time I have had to replace any bulbs on my S and it will turn 100k miles next week, all put on by me. Even though my '06 is aging, so is its owner! The improved brightness will make BOTH of us last longer...and safely, too, I hope!
Today I took my car out on this great day sunny and beat on it to burn up zoom fuel and Meth. When I got home she got a nice bath and put back in the garage for waxing this week.
Drove a little 337 mile SE Ohio back road loop. Big fun in my little Blu car. Now it's time for a full detail job.
After working the weekend & post-work spa, it's now on weekday hibernation as the SkyActiv M3 has taken over daily chores.
Stayed home with the kiddo today after she woke in the middle of the night complaining that her head hurt. She kept cupping the side of her head so I assumed it was an ear infection and promptly made an appointment with our pediatrician. Turns out she somehow tweaked her right Trapezius muscle, poor kid. Before taking the Mini to the doctor: After taking the Mini to the doctor: Evidently some Ibuprofen, a heat pack, and a BK lunch was enough to "feel me better." Gotta admit though that the way home from the doc was the first time I've felt badly that the ride was so stiff, poor little hurt neck and all. Took it easy for sure.
