In the process of cleaning a bunch or road carp off my MINI. Funny for the most part the MINI is pretty clean, but that boot area looks brown with muck. I am cleaning the whole car. Thank goodness MINI's are small critters.
I'm done with mine & I skipped most of the steps you did Mark. Only warsh & Hydro for my MINI. I is a lazy old fart.
Drove 18 miles from my island to see Fury. Sunroof open windows down, didn't get left at any stop light, drove like I stole it (as always), max. speed on open stretch 93 mph. Love this car!!!
This is culture weekend for my wife, as it is her birthday weekend and the best thing I could do for her was to take her to some cultural events. So, we drove HER S to see a musical today, and tomorrow [on her actual birthday], we are driving HER S to see some ballet. HER S will appreciate the coupla hundred miles I'll put on it and my wife will be happy to have been "culturalized"...at least for a weekend. :cornut: Hey, like they say, "happy wife, happy life".
Me and a couple buddys headed over to our local Cars and Coffee. First time at the event for us all. Pretty fair turn out for the exotics and favorite German makes. Too many street drag'n rice burners for my liking though...
Took a nice early morning trip to Allentown / Bethlehem area to a HUGE cars and coffee with other Un club friends. Had a great time and must have seen 500 + cars. Early morning runs on the PA Turnpike "a.k.a. Autobahn" = well over 130
After a terrific day, I bought a birthday dinner for my wife and me and then took HER S to get gas...$2.71/gallon for 93 premium! Woohooo...life IS good!
Saturday - I took it up to meet the other ride, that hides on my uncle's property. Fired right up, after I charged the battery over night. Ended up getting the carburetor rebuilt and replacing the brake light switch. It has been sitting for about two years since I first noticed the leaky carb.
I learned to appreciate it more. I had the unique opportunity to compare my MINI against my wife Focus ST on the same roads with in a fairly close time. The Focus was more stable in the high speed parts. The brakes are incredible even with stock pads. It is smooth over rough roads but still handles very well. The suspension is a great compromise. Over all the car is great and worthy of the praise it gets. BUT! My MINI is sharper and quicker to changes in input. It also pulls harder out of corners. So it feels faster and more fun. I have a plan to improve the high speed stability and I'll test it in the spring. I really don't know which is faster because I didn't time anything. My MINI isn't going anywhere for a long time because even if it's not faster (yet) it is a more fun and involving to drive.
Put GIR shade and gave it a wash and dry. Pulled some pin stripping tape and reapplied a different color.
I took my MINI out today because I had to drive over to the local hospital to see my 63 year old brother who fell off a ladder from his roof to the driveway Sunday afternoon. He managed to shadder his elbow and break a few ribs and bleed a lot. He is feeling better after surgery because they put 2 pins and some wire in his elbow to get it back together, but they do not do anything for broken ribs. To make matters worse the pain killers stopped working because they switched him to Percocet from Dilauded that they gave him in the ER. The hospital did not know Percocet does nothing for our family. He was in extreme pain and then he got the hiccups last night for 2 hours. (Broken ribs & hiccups = PAIN) Since they finally switched him back to Dilauded around 11 AM he is feeling a lot better and FINALY pain free and getting some sleep.
Because of the tolerance you both built during your mischievous youths?! In all seriousness... speedy recovery to your brother.
