Did you go on the New Jersey run? Saw it on the Club Website while visiting near Philly. I wanted to see your car in person while there. Unfortunately, the Mini sat in the garage (out of the storm) in Oregon, shining away for no one's benefit.

No, I did not do the NJ run. I went to a huge Cars & Coffee up in Allentown.

At one time I had a Cortina similar to that one. Mine was a GT and all white. Fun car.

Me and the Mini went to WallyWorld to pick up a couple of jugs of Mobil 1 to get in on the rebate before the deadline. Tried to buy a can of Penetrol, but the only way WW had it was online for $21. Found it at Lowes for less than 10 bucks.

Went to the gym at 6:30 this morning and managed to piss off a traffic cop directing traffic. Well let the day begin!

Ordered up two new windshields for the MINIs today, anyone have opinions on PGW(PPG) glass in our MINIs?

Should be coming in next week, the last windshield was installed by the MINI dealer, MINI factory glass, a week or so after install I managed to star it with a rock, which patched well, but you all know how MINI glass can become glazed. :(

I don't have much choice on glass, but I thought I would ask!

Using the independent who does a lot of Mercedes and Lexus dealer glass work.

We shall see how they do with the A-pillars on the 07 and the 11 CM.

Have a great Halloween and weekend. :)

Today I learned just how unsatisfactory my stock run flats perform in rain...

New wheels & tires are at the top of my list now, lala....

I have no complaints with PPG glass, it holds up pretty good. Pilkington glass is good too.

The best glass I have come across is Triplex glass, I have only seen it on British cars, it is thicker and heavy for its size. I don't know if they make it anymore.

I have a PPG windshield in my car and so far, it is holding up okay. Much better than the factory MINI windshields. I am on windshield number 7. I have had a windshield replaced every year from year 1 to year 6. The longest lasting one has been the PPG glass that I still have on my car. It has taken a few rock dings and survived where the factory glass would have needed replacing. I live in an area where the population is growing and there has been lots of construction. Other than the tint at the top of the glass not being quite as dark as the factory windshield, I have no complaints of the PPG glass. Perhaps it is a whee bit heavier. I don't know.

I have only had to replace 1 windshield in my 05 but I am about due for another one since I picked up a nice chip comming home from the Dragon last year.

I have had great results with Pilkington glass and it has taken some very hard hits.
