Hell Dave, that R53's aging gracefully. Why change the glass over a little patina?

I opened the garage door this morning to let 'em watch it rain. Naw, I'm not that corny!

Today I made a huge pot of Starbucks Itialian dark roast and headed to the garage to take out my headliner. Finally I am going to fix a few sags in the front that bother me.

Queue up the Led Zeppelin, it's fun time.

Now is a great time to install that roll cage. No sparks burning the headliner. :D

Well my little repair did not come out the way I wanted it too. I said F it and stripped the whole headliner down. I have a guy that does show cars interiors so I am going to let him do his thing.

Crushed Pink leopard print velvet with tassels all the way around each sunroof opening.:lol:

No I am staying stock black fabric. The fix did not look "absolutely perfect" and I would have had to see it every time I got in the car so it had to go.

I also did the "Savvy" mod. I took apart the center mirror and removed the little remote control board that controls the power door locks and windows remotely and tucked it into the roof.

Why, you may ask? Because that little board in the mirror rattles and dives me nuts because the sound reflects off the windshield making it sound like its comming from the dash.

The real reason I did it is because it allows me to remove the mirror with a 1/2 twist without having to disconnect the wires when I am at the Dragon. The more you can see infront of you on the Dragon the better. This will also allow me to lock/ unlock, power down and up my windows and sunroof on my car remotely when I stop for Donuts or Lunch.

Those purple dingle balls go perfect with that shiny red paint.

^^^ I'll bet it must be like Christmas morning as a kid, every time you open that door in the Spring! That's a very cool R53.

That is a great looking R53... Looks to be a fully optioned JCW.
If mine woulda started out like that, I would have preserved the look.

John's (Jackmack) car is the MINI JCW auto show car. The one in the catalog and all that stuff. Yup he ended up buying it.

It is a nice R53 JCW.

Drove over to MAG for my last free oil change and a free set of front brake pads. Sitting in the waiting area with all the beautiful new F56's.
