Well, my fuel pump finally died on me at church. Not a whisper upon priming. I'm blessed it was just half a mile's tow home. Dug into my MINI vault & took out 2 spares, an OE VDO & a Walbro conversion kit. The former got fitted as I was in no mood to fiddle nor was I bored. It could've been worse....again, feeling blessed!:)

Dismantled old pump assembly just to satiate my curiosity. Tested pump on 12v & it still runs. hmmmmm. But it's not worth putting it back. 12years of good service, the wire insulators have splits all over, & it got me stranded. Peace of mind is priceless.
Tried the walbro in, too loose & it was said to be a conversion kit. $80 of nonsense. Oh well, I learned something from this, at the very least. And, happy old awesome is back to how he was.:)

So I have to ask, if letting the soap sit on it get the dirt off does it take the wax with it?

Nope, its wax same soap / foam.

If I used Dawn or a transit removal solution it would strip everything off but the paint.

I do that in the Spring when the Mistress gets a full multi-day detail. :ihih:

I have a Troy Built 2800 PSI Power washer from Lowes. I spent a little extra and got the Honda motor of the Briggs & Stratton. Honda motors run forever.

I use this Chemical Guys Maxi-Suds II soap in my foam cannon that is attached to my power washer gun. First you spray down your car with water to remove any heavy crud.
Then you remove the pressure washer wand from the gun and screw in the Foam cannon to the Pressure washer gun. It is very easy and you only mix a few ounces of soap and fill the rest with water.

Foam Cannon attachment : Pinnacle Pressure Washer Foam Cannon HP, foam lance, foam gun, pressure washer foam gun

** Note you need to know what pressure washer you have to order the correct adapter for the pressure wash gun.

Soap: Chemical Guys Maxi-Suds II SUPER SUDS SHAMPOO Superior Surface Shampoo 128 oz.

Drove over to Piqua & picked up a fellow old fart. Got yelled at to get off his lawn. Went to the Air Force Museum. Lots of walking but a grand time looking at the planes.[IMG]

Dropped the Mini off at the body shop this morning to pretty up his face again. Got a Focus SE to drive in the meantime. Pleasantly surprised, especially after my last rental which I thought was gonna poop out on me every time I accelerated onto the freeway.

Drove some spare parts up for a little customization of the interior. We'll see how they turn out.

Took the dog for a walk...parks were full, so a 20 mile round trip ended up being a 50 mile excursion...the R50 liked it and the dog got his walk in.

Now, to add some antifreeze to my S and get ready for a "fun" trip to the dealer on Friday to see what the leakage problem is...grrrrr.:incazzato:

Put on the winter boots. Hey, it was -2c here last night.

Now I'm all ready for this:

....and it will probably warm up and stay warm for the rest of the winter now.

BTW....anybody here planning on going to AMVIV next year? I received an email today.

My wife's S has 16" Blizzaks and mine wears 15" Blizzaks, too. Bring on Old Man Winter...I doubt he has enough in his storm sack to keep us off the roads for long. :ihih:

Thank-you. Doesn't matter that SUVs have AWD. If they have summer tires or 3-season tires, a MINI with proper winter tires will run circles around them. I love it when I run circles around SUVs or blow by them while climbing a hill.

    I received this:

It's a 22 hour spirited drive for me to get to Vegas from where I am, not including the line up at the border crossing. I've been to 4 AMVIVs and have an itching to go at least one more time to see 3 generations (4 if you include the classic Minis) together. However, due to some personal family issues happening right now, it's not looking good that I would be able to go next year.

Today I ran out to Best Buy and picked up the 2 new Led Zeppelin remastered CD's.
(IV & Houses of the Holy)

I curbed my passemher side rear rim a little bit avoiding some idiot in the parking lot but who cares they are my Winter S- lite beaters. I can see it from my side of the car.

I also missed a BIG Buck comming home on a very dark and twisty back road. Yes, I was driving at the speed limit.
