Took my S out for a long day's drive and now there is more antifreeze on the garage floor.:mad2: I was just at the dealer last week and so, it looks like a new scoop is the least of my problems.:mad5:
Thanks, Dick, for the sticker and scoop offer, but I'm gonna have to pass for now. I need to find out what's going on with that antifreeze leak first, before the next Winter blast hits. Thank God the MINI dealer guarantees repairs for 2years, though. I'm kinda liking the empty scoop hole and the screen I put in the back keeps any road crap from getting inside.
I took my MINI out today for carbon cleaning. I went out for a nice morning drive and filled yup with Shell 93 topped off the Meth tank and blasted around a few back roads on my way to Delaware. Now it time for a chicken cheesesteak and a Saturday afternoon nap.
Well today, I did a little work on the Porker... 1: Changed the oil out for Rotella (at 600 miles to flush out anything from manufacturing and break in) 2: De-badged pretty much everything. Looks better now that there aren't chrome letters stuck EVERYWHERE! 3: Washed and applied wax to the hatch, and front doors. Used Wax&Grease remover during the de-badge. (Takes the glue off better and faster than anything else.) In a couple hours, I am headed to a friends house to code in features with NCS-Expert.
Took my sweetie & her MINI out for a drive in the country. Stopped at a nice pottery shop & sweetie bought me a new coffee mug.
And now I dont need to hold the sunroof switch for the 30 seconds it takes the thing to open and close, my windows now work with the door open, the nice LED fogs come on automatic with the headlights, and a couple other little changes BMW thought we wouldn't want.
Nice cleanup on PorkChop, subtle... You only left the S in front, how will people know it is an ALL4? Or do you care! Will the tweaks hold if the ECU gets an update by the dealer? Nice!
Thanks Don, other people dont need to know that Porkchop is AWD, or even an S for that matter. Keeping it stealth and low key for now. The coding to the BCM should hold as long as they dont wipe the BCM clear and do a totally new program. If they do, I know who to take it to to put it back. My only complaint so far is how quiet it is... I really need to make a custom exhaust and un cork it.
What I did with my MINI today, was leave it in the garage. I did a very thorough MINI cleaning yesterday, inside, outside -- and even the engine compartment. We had light rain a drizzle all day today. So, I stayed home and did laundry -- and cooked some tasty rice and beans for supper. Oh, I drank a little, too. Another reason to leave the MINI in the garage. CD
Was that Red Beans and rice, Cajun style? We drove the Countryman down to the local Starbucks to get a couple Grandes, Latte and Hot Chocolate after working our backsides off in the yard. Yard looks ready for winter which has come and gone for a bit here in Colorado. Take care, have a great Sunday.
I do love cajun red beans and rice, but today's beans were black beans, with some diced onions, diced tomatoes, and some of the last of my backyard jalepeñoes that I picked before the first freeze a few days ago. CD
Well, yesterday, i met up with some of the CarlisleMINI folks and checked out on of the coolest walks through automotive history... www.oldspokes.com. Once owned by Agnes Moorehead... Finally learned what those levers on the steering wheels were all about.
