I had a guy in a brand new E-series Merc pull up next to me yesterday. I had the windows down, enjoying the cold air and he rolled down his windows to say hi. He apparently used to race Alpha Romeo's and the burble of my R53 and aftermarket exhaust on a cold day reminded him of those days. A man of good taste!
Had the CM down at the dealer, they found the random horn honk problem, owner induced, fixed an oil weep problem, then they washed the CM. :frown2: So, the next warm weekend, it will be a spiff with the PC and an application of Banana Gloss. Nice to see old Alfa Romeo guys appreciate a good exhaust sound. I raced a 67 Alfa Romeo GT for about 8 years in Vintage, nothing beats that sound. Don
Decided to catch rocks with my windshield:mad5: Honestly, I cannot seem to get on the road recently without getting behind some triple axle dump that just left the jobsite or a 18 wheel grain hauler. Today, I get a dumper that kicks a pebble right at my me. Leaves a mar but I check it once I am off the road and it wipes off. Whew!! Then on the way home a flatbed 18 wheeler kicks one, and dont you know, it hits the same exact spot. Yep, gotta small fract going. I mean small, but still... These guys don't need mud flaps, they need complete skirts all the way to the pavement. Jeez.
05r50- that sucks. Next time, get a license plate number- that way you don't have to pay out of your pocket to fix it. Drove home from my mom's house. Put about 300 miles on the car with no windshield noise.... ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Right behind ya on this one, hope to have it done today. Installed a Canton overflow tank last weekend, nice pc of equipment bit cheaper than a forge, only complaint is the nipple coming out the side interferes with the power steering fluid cap big time, had to cut it back a bit.
Been looking at one of those too, good to know about the nipple. Yep got the thermostat all done but while letting it run and heat up, noticed my belt tensioned was going south. Going to go ahead and replace the idler pulley too while I'm at it. Got some new Swift springs on the way to test too! Hope all goes well for ya!
RDNZL is back out in the driveway! It's 65 degrees here today and the rain of last week has washed all the crap salt they put down on Halloween. So for now it's time to ride......
I've got a track weekend next week, so I got the trailer out of storage, checked the air in the tires and lubed the hubs. I gave it a quick air-out and loaded most of my track gear (jack, jackstands, tools, magnetic numbers, etc) so it's ready to go. All I need is some clothing and I'm ready to go! The MINI has some leaking power steering lines, so I picked up parts on Friday night and I'm taking Jango into the shop on Monday morning for the work. Oh yeah... it's getting cold out there. If you haven't done it lately, check the air pressure in your tires!
On Friday, I drove past something so ugly (in my eyes, at least!) that I had to turn around to take pics and share the joke with my M/A buds!
On Saturday, I achieved this milestone: My goal is to hit 100K by 01/13/12...not sure I'll make it, though.
