Today I painted my speedo and the vent rings on each side. I also took apart the center power mirror switch and control knob and painted them black. Next weekend I may tackle the silver stearing wheel center ring and 9 & 3 silver parts on the stearing wheel where cruise comtrol and radio controls are.
Tucked the Mini away in my heated shop for the winter. Toyo R1R's are on the rack waiting for next season. Projects for the winter: mount my DIY carbon fiber hood and start measuring for the rear diffuser. Hope work doesn't get in the way too much. Really want to get this all done by spring!
Finished installing my lower control arm bushings today. The old bushings were completely shot. The steering is now more precise and that annoying twitch between gears is gone. The terribly annoying creak from the front right is still there, though. I guess I'll be swapping struts soon.
Nathan, was that the friendly good MINI guy or gal or the not so friendly tow truck operator moving Gnat. Perhaps a 10x15 storage unit for the winter? Then bum rides all winter long, I hope you are healing well.
Took advantage of the mid 50's temps in NW Ohio, and washed/waxed/polished the Coop. Always time well spent.
Thanks Nathan. Maybe I'll wash it during my lunch break tomorrow. Right now, the a panels are spotless and the rest of the car is filthy....or I could make a few high speed passes down a dirt road, that way it's equally dirty all over.
Ordered a new O2 sensor from RMW to finally get the tuning all set up correctly. Made appt to have it installed too.
