I liked my custom strut mount, there's nothing better than a mini that handles like a truck. Seriously though, what is the consensus on upgrading that area? I figure the one on the left probably doesn't have too much longer.
Without swapping the OE mounts to some sort of camber plate (IE fixed plates are cheapest) you are going to have that chunk of rubber which will always eventually fail.
Yep just ask me I have done it 3 or 4 times now. So I get to drive my Mini to the doctors this morning. Nothing to bad. After being sick for a week ,sore throat, stopped up head, general feel bad. I now have pink eye! And both my boys have already asked, much to their joy, so you don't have to. I did not touch my hind quarters and then my eye!!! I get no respect!:frown2:
Added 6 oz. of coolant to the reservoir in my S and checked to make sure they had painted my new scoop correctly [and they did]. Took my wife's S out to get a low tire fixed and found that the bead on the rim was leaking...all is well now, tires are all aired up with nitrogen and life is good again. It was a busy day, but a good one.
Spent 3 hours of quality time spiffing the Countryman, it is 60 and blue skies in Colorado after 2 days of the 20s and 30s. Nice!
Got it all dusted off this afternoon so I can take it out in tomorrow morning's pouring rain, to finish the brake job, get an alignment and install a new power steering hose. I anticipate I'll have to wash it outside in the rain before putting it back in the garage, moping the wet floors after a nice towel dry. The Fireman in me lives!
Short drive today...Car runs great, feels good and all that. It farking hurts to drive though! I for one am not going to recommend the broken rib method of keeping miles low on your MINI.
Changed the power steering hoses today. No brake work yet as the parts I have don't appear to be of any benefit to install... No rain as the weatherman had insisted, therefore I skated on having to wash the car and mop the floor. At least the day was mostly a success.
Drove the Mini and my oldest daughter down town and had lunch. Good food and conversation. Just put oil in the transmission/primary of the Indian. For the third time. I really hope it does not leak this time! Indian Americas first Motorcycle. And I ant talkin about that new one
Got my snow tires on my CMS ALL4 (finally!) after driving through nearly a foot of snow last week! On a side note, the stock Bridgestone Dueller performance tires are performing far better than I expected! 20K flawless miles so far, not the rough ride I envisioned, and this after I couldn't give them away last year...no interest from any of the BB's pac
Had this installed... It will take a few days for the clutch foot to learn the new feel of the pedal... but a relatively easy and striaghtforward install.
