I know they aren't best pics... lots of glare. But from those, I can say I'm quite happy and can't wait to see them in person.
Quick question concerning the European front end safety standards. Why doesn't the new Porsche, Ferrari, etc. look as bad as the F56? Did they get a pass or does BMW just have no taste? (I think I might know the answer)!
I drove to my dentist appointment this morning. Incidentally, my hygienist didn't come to work because she didn't want to drive in a rainstorm. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up in Cali, but I feel like people are making way too big a deal out of some wind and rain... I got a call from my kid's school saying that yes, school would be in session today despite the storm. Really? It didn't even occur to me that it wouldn't be.
The storm is off the Oregon/ Washington coast! All California is getting is some much needed rain. What a bunch of weather wimps! Cliff Mass Weather Blog
Quick answer.... That's all BMW could come up with as to a reason why... They created a faux answer....
Whoa, whoa, whoa...let's just get through this rain storm first before we start talking snowflakes! I mean, I just walked through the parking lot not 5 minutes ago...and now my hair is damp! :biggrin5: I admit I'm not looking forward to my commute home. :nonod:
Had an adult in person discussion with the Service Advisor pertaining to spark plug and filter change intervals. Literature calls for 30K miles on the plugs and was last done 32K ago. She saw that and agreed it was over the prescribed mileage, but as the computer said it wasn’t due for 5K more, that was it. Reminded her that is documented in my file that they’d re-set my service light on a previous oil change for which I’d paid and should not have (pre-MOTD, but not yet due the free oil change). She allowed as how this would through off the calculations on Spark Plug and filter change intervals, but still held with the answer that even though it was their error that caused the miscalculation, she couldn’t authorize the work under the service agreement because her computer didn’t say it was due. God help us all… :mad2: Following multiple calls to various individuals, the ‘warranty guy’ was able to get it through to her that it was their F-up, to ignore the computer and instead rely on the odometer.
Today, I spent my day at work making my coworkers to include the plant manager and the CEO's think I was going to trade the Porkchop for a new truck... My Dad, just picked up a 2015 Chevy Silverado over the weekend, and we have been planing this swap all week, just to throw people off! So tomorrow, I am taking the truck, and he is taking the Porker... Should be a fun Friday for both of us.
I had the same problem when a person that could not make change for a $10 bill for a $6.35 purchase because the computer was down. Really it's basic math kid. I said the change is $3.65 . She said no that's no enough I want to be 100% sure I give you the correct change sir, let me call my manger who is at Lunch. Effing computers are making kids stupid. :mad2:
A number of years ago I was taking my youngest son to work and he wanted to stop at McDonalds for fries which were 89 cents and the high school employee could not make change from a dollar when his cash register acted up. So very sad.
I thought everyone had to use a calculator to add and subtract. Good grief if they should need to do fractions and or algorithms. As an aside, I took a nice ride on a beautiful Colorado day over to the range to de-stress and plink a couple hundred rounds, 22LR and 380. I found I shoot tighter groups with the red-dot scope on the Browning 22. Scooter loved the ride, looked a bit odd in the parking lot with all the Jeeps and Trucks, but I have high hopes, the range GM drives an Abarth.
Had the same sorta warranty issue a couple years ago at the Beemer shop. Got kinda heated, but I prevailed... My Service Writer left her job a couple months later.
So, my MINI had winter tires swapped out a few weeks ago at the local tire store. and something my husband paid for on both MINIS was never installed so here we are taking both MINIS back to said tire store and lo and behold they cross threaded my rear tire, which they can't fix. The brakes store recommended to us was, let's say less than desirable so we took my MINI to the dealership to ensure proper MINI OEM would be installed. As of 2 full days at the dealership, an oil leak has been found somewhere, serpentine belt is cracked, brake pads and rotors? need replacing. Um, my Coupe has 20,000 miles on her:incazzato::crazy::cryin::incazzato::mad2: Well at least, it's under warranty. Most of it.
Loaded up George the cat & headed off to the vet for his biannual trimming of the claws. Came home & put some nice new plates on the Blu one. The others were beat to shirt after 9 years.
I pulled off the old switcharoo pretty good... First time the boss walked outside resulted in this...
