Cleaned the Countryman today, shiny! No brakes due yet, will have to look at PADs I think in another 10K of Mountain driving.
Drove over to my Sis' place for my niece's 5th bday. Unfortunately, she caught some sort of stomach bug and was KO'd most of the day, puking from time to time. :-(
I drove over to my dad's for oil change attempt number 2. After numerous attempts to get the oil drain plug out, it still hasn't budged at all. We have tried everything we can think of, and have never had an issue remotely close to this before. Sockets, wrenches, vise-grips, pipe wrench, bolt extractors, nothing has worked so far. Short of welding a socket to the drain plug, dropping the oil pain and replacing with a new one, or a new motor, I don't really know what else to do. I'm just trying to keep my MINI well maintained but it hates me. :cryin:
Today I ordered new red and black chequers front and cargo area (rear seat delete) mats from cocomats.com. Told Drew from cocomats that he needs to make Dave.o a paid spokesperson...
Was picked up at the airport by Anson of Best Motors in my own car...Woot!. Had a few things done while I was away. The darn thing is eating oil. It's not leaking. I need to keep a better eye on that. The buzz is fixed. Loose screw. Something is stripped. We'll look at that later. Seems I have a few other little issues cropping up slowly. Will discuss with them when I'm just getting off a plane. Like tomorrow probably.
Headed to the car wash to clean off a month's worth of crummy and subzero winter weather. It started to rain before I got a block from home. :mad2:
I used the bonnet of my '70 to stack some packing blankets. I know, but it's covered and it is a flat spot after all...
Got my S fixed today, I think! New tranny fluid....runs like new, so far. Time will tell, though. :fingerscrossed:
Today I put my car on the battery charger / tender since it won't be moving this week. Crappy weather is coming and I have not need to drive with morons.
Took my S out for a spin after getting the tranny fluid changed. It's back to normal again...so far...lol
Made the hour and half drive over to Mike Johns Imports in Jeffersonville, IN to have the carbon cleaning done. Two and a half hours later, what a huge difference it made! She's back to normal again! It was a big mess in there, but clean as a whistle now!
I stuck the trickle charger on one and dusted off the other... Gonna have'ta drive one of 'em tomorrow to shag donuts and go to a car club meeting. Depends on the weather. :fingerscrossed:
Today I pulled my MINI out of the garage and let it run for a 1/2 hour while I installed a new 6 bulb HO T5 light in my garage. Savvy the garage is now like a sunny day at the beach when all 24 of the lights are on.
