After reading how driving to work has depressed all you folks, I'm glad I don't do that anymore. Monday is just like Saturday or Sunday to me, but with less traffic. Jim
Sorry to hear that Mark. Retiring and laid off have a similar end result, but are not the same. Hope things get back on track for ya. Jim
Drove to and from work yesterday with the windows down and the stereo cranking! 65 degrees on November 28th in Jersey!
You need a trip to the Dragon. I got laid-off 3 weeks before MOTD a few years ago. My wife said "It's not like you have to work, so borrow a tent and a sleeping bag and get out there". As soon as I got into the cell signal black hole that is Fontana Village, my voice mail started filling up with resume call-backs! Good luck w/ the search!
Same thing happened to a friend of ours this year. By the time she left she had 3 interviews and a new job in a week!
I set up 2 phone interviews while on the drive from Dallas to NC and had to drive twice in one day into Robinsville to camp in the car wash parking lot for the calls (reliable cell phone signal). Both of those conversations netted in-person interviews and offers within a week of arriving home. Moral of the story: The Dragon is magical!
