Gas came back down yesterday and so, my S and my wife's are off today for a long drink of high octane before tonight's projected snowstorm puts a damper on travel over the next few days.
Removed the resonator, synthetic oil change, went down south to pick up rims tires and studded winters. Can't wait to put em on!
Took the wife out in the MINI to go food shopping at 6:30 am today and it was 10 outside but with the strong winds they say it's -2. It's damn cold and the car runs great but with the HP and Tq I have I wish I could get more traction from my Michelins. :rolleyes5: Also the roads are covered is salt and brine so that does not help.
Reactivated SiriusXM for a free 2 month subscription (triggered by logging the car in at the dealership for an oil change). Same crappy sound quality as before. 'Free' is the only price I'd pay for this pathetic sound quality full of digital artifacts, and even at that price I wouldn't use it much.
Emptied and cleaned my catch can today. Almost full in 3 weeks. It's making more puke than normal this year.
Drove the Blu one over to a my friends house. His wife drove me to his Porsche mechanic to pick up his 996. He's in Italy so I got the job. I have a new respect for those who rally Porsche's. The roads were snow covered up where the mechanic is, I was driving sideways to go straight. Should have been fun, but those steamroller sized summer tires just suck. Made it to his house OK. Got in my MINI & dented the floor under the clutch peddle. Much lower effort needed for my MINI clutch.
It going into the upper 30's tomorrow so I will wash my car and put it back in the warm garage for the week.
I just dug mine out from under the 7" of snow we got last night. The Porker was almost clean for an entire week, now its back to slop covered.
R&R driver side window regulator and motor. Ugh. So far my least favorite thing to do on a mini. Terrible design. I think replacing the clutch was better
Had to move the 07 to get the snow blower out for that 7 inch snow ModFather mentioned. Had to move the Countryman too out into the drive after I shoveled some to make a nice parking spot. Snowblower made short work of it. Heavy wet stuff but I have a short drive and it faces South so the sun helps too. Now I get to go out in the slop to the store for some misc. items before I try to find some shooting shows on the TV. No much on the FB, but I do like the commercials. 5 hours of pre-game show, WTF. Don
