The one I have on my wife's MCS was expensive and runs for 3 yrs or 36k miles. It's $100 deductible and covers about everything but the normal replacement stuff. It's called Fidelity. Even though my wife's car is out of the factory warranty, since I bought the car used, I wanted to get the extended warranty so I could make sure it got caught up with its servicing without bankrupting me. It was worth it to me. BTW, welcome to M/A!
wmwny, thanks for the info...think i have heard of fidelity. thru the mini dealership? what do u call expensive if u don't mind me asking? (are u a western ny-er? i'm originally from roTchester).
Led this group of MINIs 125 miles. To this place. For this. Everyone seemed satisfied. Snow's Barbecue, Lexington Texas.
Went in for an oil change and told them to check out some play in the steering. Turned out I needed a new front wheel bearing. Was told that was a safety issue and I needed it fixed ASAP. So they gave me a 5 door hatch to play with for the day.
Opened the door to the garage from the kitchen. Looked at the car. Closed the door. Snow and ice today.
Clear day in Western Oregon, 55 degrees, went joyriding in the hills - top down. Yesterday, (also nice clear day) Mini stayed in garage while I rode 54 miles on the bicycle. Always a decision to make - ride bicycle or drive the Mini on a nice day. And, sometimes I do both, in case you're wondering. New Pulstar plugs working well - no misfires so far. Perfect performance at all speeds and conditions.
Changed the drivers side control arm bushing with powerflex and new ball joints, tomorrow I'll do the other side. Be leave it or not the OEM control arm bushing with 68,000 miles were still tight!
Drove to work. Drove it home. Then gave it a quick bath given that the air temp was actually above freezing.
Not so much what I did with it, as what I did for it. I ordered my new front brake calipers this afternoon and hope to finally have the upgrade completed in the next couple of weeks.
Ordered a Vibra-Technics engine mount from Greene Performance to replace the one that I discovered had shot it's jizz...
Replaced all three wipers. Front got the PIAA AeroVOGUE hybrid blades. Rear was a Bosch replacement. The PIAA are not what I was expecting. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality. I was expecting plastic caps over a traditional metal arm... there is no plastic. Except the clip for attachment point, they are all metal.
Finished installing EBC Reds.... Helix ssk... Dunno why mini doesn't do this to all mini's that leave the factory... it's like it should've came short shifted..
