No need. Crashton did all the hard work already. This car has everything it needs. I'm just the new caretaker. Now that I have an R53 Dave.0 can teach me the secret handshake for the clubhouse. Woot!!
Took a nice leisurely drive through the corn-try and spent a little time in Yellow Springs Ohio.... Place is still loaded with real hippies.... Had a nice lunch with my wife there... Brought my dog along that kept sniffing the air... Had a unique smell... Lot's of tie dye tee shirts and incense... It felt good to get out and take a cruise in the MINI.....
Drove the family to Muir Woods and Stinson Beach today. The weather was beautiful so we had the sun roof open and the windows down. Lovely scenery going through the mountains. Got a little frustrated with some stubborn (and very slow) drivers not using the turnouts...but it was a great day otherwise.
Changed the oil, rotated the tires and changed the plugs. But I did a BAD BAD THING! The dealer gave me the wrong filter. I didn't look in the box like an idiot.:mad2: I always look in the box! They were closed so I had to use a Wix filter.
That's because some dingdong redesignated the oil filters to have the same last 3 or 4 digits in the part number for the first and second gen filters. Happened to me once before. I just restocked myself with Mahle filters from amazon. Exact same OEM filters minus the BMW/MINI packaging.
My Coupe just hasn't been handling very well all winter and several times I've blamed it on the Extreme Contact DWS tires I put on last fall. Several times I've spun out going through roundabouts (Welshman giving me grief when I did so). Today I got a wild hair up my a$$ and decided to take the lower control arms and RSB loose to see how they were wearing. Bushings were fine but totally dry and binding from the winter road crap. I cleaned them up, lubed them and put them back together. Amazingly, the coupe now handles like it used to. The tires haven't been the problem, it was the rear suspension binding.
Yep when things get bunched up in a bind up all kinds of things can happen. Even severe chaffing. Glad you finally tracked down your problems. You owe your DSW tires a good cleaning & an apology.
Replaced the serpentine belt, and cleaned all of the salt/winter crap off the pedals and drivers side carpet/mat.
