Take care of her & she will reward you. She likes a bubble bath followed by Hydro. She loves twisty roads & bouncing the rev limiter every once in a while.
Just noticed in your pic that you have the DRL's turned on in the BCM... You really dont see that very often! Isobell has them activated too, and for some reason the dealer couldn't communicate with the BCM to turn them off... Now I want to keep them for the rare factor.
No need for that I get to say hi to mine once a month. I have a new 4 wheeled friend in the stable to have fun with. Do you visit your old MINI's Mark?
Did a turn around in the Clifton Gorge parking lot in order to stop by the Clifton Mill.... The young's Dairy parking lot was packed... They must have been giving away free ice cream or something... Didn't stop... But... There will be a next time...
We drove Skooby over to Best Motor Werks so Anson could place his healing hands on Skooby. Maybe getting a new Jarvik 7, but that's up to Doc Anson. He is also doing a trans drain & fill as a preventative measure. We don't want Skooby to become shiftless. Yesterday I found a bubble in the sidewall of one the snow tires. Glad I have the Discount Tire road hazard warranty.
The diagnosis is in & Skooby lives with a new Jarvik 7 under the hood. Word is he is resting comfortably in post op. We will be picking up the Lil pup shortly. Thanks Anson!!!
Wash in side and out! Fixed the hatch the body shop couldn't be bothered to adjust. And tried to fix the drivers side window.
Washed the Countryman with the full routine and Hydro Max rub down, sparkles with Hydro. Drove my 07 to lunch today, it needs some Hydro Max, perhaps after Wednesdays rain. Hey, Crashton, is a Jarvik a new super battery? Are you running 16s for snows on the Clubman?
Don if you look at a picture of the thermostat housing on the Prince engine it looks for all the world like a Jarvik 7 artificial heart. Yes we are running 195-55-16 Blizzak WS 70 tires. Hope the tire shop can find me another. We will need it again for next winter. Gotta love Hydro!
Got the front struts and top mounts installed yesterday. Now I have Koni Sports struts and shocks all around and a new H-Sport 19mm bar on the middle setting. Between the new front mounts and new rear mount inserts and the gas charge from the Konis, I've picked up about 3/8" in ride height, a little more up front and a little less in the back. I've also picked up about 3/32" in front toe-out and about 1/16" in rear toe-out compared to before. Will set the front back to 0 after letting things settle in just a little, and will remeasure the rears in a bit and see if it's worth the effort to do them. The old shocks still had some gas charge and about 1/2 to 2/3 their original stiffness. The Konis have firmed up the ride nicely with moderate and big bumps, but the initial impact on sharp bumps is actually slightly less harsh than the worn shocks were. Some of that might be from the new shock mounts, bumpstops and spring pads, though. Will have to change to my summer tires before I can evaluate the rear bar better. The top caps on the strut bearings don't fit back with the Konis as the strut tops are slightly higher. I drilled a 1/4" hole in them and they go back on fine now, although not hermetically sealed. I set the Konis for about 1 full turn off of full soft (1 turn each both rears, 3/4 turn right front, 1.5 turns left front actually gives fairly equal rebound settings on this particular set). It seems there's a bit of variation in the calibration off the assembly line.
Took Skooby to Discount Tire this morning. Summer tires on & snow tires off & bagged. One snow tire was rendered only usable as a tire swing by a Central Ohio road crater. I was worried we wouldn't be able to find a replacement. Bridgstone has now gone to a WS80 Blizzak & ours are WS70 plus the fact we are at the end of winter where snow tires are hard to find. Low & behold Jeremy did a bit of telephone work & bam he found us one. We are feeling pretty lucky. Big Thumbs up for Discount Tire the Crashton family tire store.
In preparation for MOTD, on Friday after work had New Pilot Super Sports mounted/balanced. In and done in 21". Not bad. Discount Tire threw two guys at the car.
Washed lots of road crud off after returning from a trip to the deep south. Good trip, lots of history and some good fried catfish!
I didn't time my pit-stop at Discount Tire, but they changed 4 tires faster than I could drink a cup of coffee. Nice to know all of the Discount Tire stores seem to be really good at what they do.
I didn't know what Hydro Max was so I googled it. Surprised to find this... Home - Official Hydromax Pump Gives new meaning to "loving" your car.
I should know.... NEVER click the link without thinking about who might have posted the link! Not what I had in mind for Hydro Max. Go to the Prima product site Whales. ostcount
