Yay !! Dealer just called to say, they finished with the cruise. Everything is working fine. Bad thing is, the summer tires are on it, and we got 6" of snow last night!! The dealer is a two hour trip.... So it will stay there for a bit!!
I feel bad...killed a bird of prey today. Just cruising down the road when it popped out off a median into the corner of the roof at the A pillar. In the mirror saw it land really hard on the road. The truck in the other lane swiftly finished it off.
Bald Eagle, Buzzard, ??? What was it doing scarfing down some road-kill and became one with dinner? Don't feel bad unless it was a Bald Eagle, the others are varmints. How bad was Gnat hurt?
Dont feel bad, I whacked a rabbit with the Porker on the way to work today. Wasn't even enough left to make a decent lunch.
I hit a hawk last summer, it was on the side of the road and took off as I passed it. It flew parallel with the car for a short time, it seemed to fill the passenger side window. All of a sudden it turned in front of the windshield, it hit and bounced over the roof of the car. there weren't any other cars on the road, maybe it survived. It's weird that it turned in front of the car after flying next to it, what was it thinking? Birdbrain!
Sorry Nathan, if never hit a buzzard but I had one almost get me. My older daughter and I went to an old school that had been closed for several years. As I walked in to a room from the out side I thought I heard something. As I rounded the corner a buzzard the size of Godzilla jumped out. It took flight and headed right for me! I dropped down into my cat stance and gave a karate yell, Godzilla rethought his attack. But for some reason my daughter thought I was yelling for my life, so she started running for hers. Once I ran down my daughter to tell her it was ok we returned to take pictures of Godzilla, who was still cowering just at the sight of me.
Washed and Waxed. Re-buffed and waxed the rear bumper to remove the hairline swirls that develop with all the grit that constantly accumulates. Seems I need to do this about twice a year despite trying to be careful during washing and using the correct mitt.
Update - really like the Koni Sports and the H-sport 19mm bar. Bad news - left tie rod is pretty frozen. Didn't try super hard yet, but put some Kroil on a couple times, struck the joint a little and gave it some pretty good tugs but no go. Got the adjustment nut to move pretty well but not the shaft into the end. Good news - with a slight adjustment to the left tie rod, front toe is now right on zero (with and without people in the front seat) and the steering wheel points exactly level. Rear toe is about 1/32" toe-out which is close enough not to try adjusting it further (especially since I don't have the BMW tool yet that makes it easier). Summer tires (Conti DW) are going on this weekend unless something looms in the 10-day weather forecast then.
The last time I had my MINI aligned I had to have the left front tie rod replaced. Nothing could loosen it not even the heat wrench. Rust never sleeps. :incazzato:
Uhhh isn't there supposed to be foam there? lol! my itg filter disintegrated.. or decided to become the best free flowing air filter.... running an amsoil one now.
Last night removed its pants... and just finished claying & polishing the hood for some new vinyl to be installed on Saturday.
Lets see; yesterday was an alignment (I had hit a curb dented a rim, had it repaired and the tire replaced), Today was a new Radiator, as the thermostat had gone bad and built enough pressure to cause an end tank leak, and tomorrow is back on the dyno for a remote RMW/Jan Tune, after having got my RMW Head, Cam and Injectors installed. I have been running for a month now with a 'canned' tune Jan sent me for the cam/head/injector setup. Will post back the Dyno sheets.
I drove it. Lol I bought some screen wash as it ran out haha, will get a nice wash and wax tomorrow before date night!
