Today I washed and vacuumed my wife's car the I cleaned a set of wheels. Not my wheels, but a friends. These have not been cleaned since last fall. They went from this.... (Black inside) To this.... New again. fyi I have been taking care of these wheels every Spring since they were new 3 or 4 years ago. Clean with Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller Rim cleaner, RainX, BlackFire paint sealant. Sonex can not clean like Dodo Juice Ferrous DuelleR.
I guess I'll have'ta get some'a that wheel cleaner now Dave. I had'ra get the DoDo Juice after you posted using it last year. Can you shoot me a PM and outline your sequence of substance use?
I have the wheels off the car first. First I pressure wash them to remove all the loose crud. Next I use Meguiar's (APC)!All Purpose Cleaner and a Blue SOS pad with sponge on one side and non scratch scrubbing pad on the otherside. You can buy them at the supermarket. Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate, 1 Gallon, works on carpet, fabric, vinyl, and leather for all-over interior cleaning. I work one on wheel at a time and clean, scrub and rinse before I move to the next one. After they are all clean I remove any little tar dots with Acetone on a rag. For the last cleaning step I use Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller. I spray it on let it sit to pull out any iron from the rotors and after a few minutes I scub them down wit the SOS sponge pad again. Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller Iron Remover, paint decontamination After they are all clean I dry them I spray them down with RainX again one wheel at a time and wipe off the residue. The last thing I do is apply Blackfire paint sealant one wheel at a time and wipe the wheel down before I work on the next one. BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection, paint sealant, synthetic sealant, blackfire sealant That's it your all done, sit back opena cold beer and enjoy your great looking rims. To keep them clean you really only need soap and water but if they really dirty you can use the Dodo Juice cleaner again. Just remember a little goes a loooong way and you don't need to spray the whole bottle on one wheel. Dodo Juice is not Sonax, it's much stronger it will NOT harm your rims or lugs and does not stink like your grandmother give her feiend a perm.
Dude how big was that girl at the movies last night at the drive-in? Sorry man but that was too easy to pass up. FYI in the future you have more room on the passengers side. :ihih:
Pulled the belt line, stripped old Plasti Dip and re-applied. Resurfaced moon beams and re-Plasti Dipped. Pulled wiper arms, sanded and applied fresh paint.
Changed the oil and filter. Checked the other fluids. Changed the rear brake lines and bled the brakes. Checked all the suspension bolts. Finished my aero experiment. Vacuumed out the inside.
Installed the scan gauge from my R56 into the R53. Also installed a poor mans Bluetooth unit. Got it on amazon for bout $25. It plugs into the stereo aux jack and has a dual use power unit for the BT control and your device. The controller is held in place with a magnet and has a turn dial for volume and song switching. Also if you push and hold the button it activates Siri and you can make a hands free call thru the stereo. It does work with the volume button on MFSW but not the other MFSW buttons. The upside was I didn't need to pull the head unit or retro fit anything.
Ordered some of the Dave.0 recommended Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller to clean brake dust off of my red wheels. Also ordered some brake pads from Jan that won't dust as bad. Just got a box from Auto Geek containing Blackfire Wet Diamond paint protection (for the wheels) and Hydro Max (the spray polymer - not the penis pump).
