Today I ran the Rat down the Dragon firs thing in the morning... A clean run for the most part, at a brisk 30MPH! Captured this pic at Tabcat Bridge, after the smoke stopped coming off of them... Thats how you know you did it right!
We drove down the Dragon this morning at 6:44, on our way home. It was good to see everyone! Be safe going home,
First thing tomorrow morning, I am running up to the state line... Adding a new sticker (last years is still there) and heading to Fontana for a farewell till next year!
Did a couple oil changes today.. First time for the new/used Clubman. Easier to get to stuff on the 2nd gen than the R50, but I made more of a mess. Zeroed out both trip counters while trying to reset the service interval.
Thanks to Jan for my new ecu tune on my Cooper! WOW...what a difference! It pulled thru yesterday's ride over the Dragon and on my way home to Ohio wonderfully! Dang...looks like I just may have to "force" myself to come back to MOTD again NEXT year! I'll NEVER run out of all those cigars, so all you people who attended the Cigar Salon will just HAVE TO suck it up and help a buddy out for another [YES, ANOTHER] year.
Went to the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix today. Had a great time with a couple of close buddys and our wives. A huge Thank You goes out to Norm Nelson for all he and his posse did to create such a great MINI corral for everyone to enjoy!!
Install a Detroit tuned bypass valve and Aquamist jet adapter for a future planned meth injection kit.
Drove home from the Dragon, we made great time. Another MOTD in the books and a great time seeing everyone again. Going to do Monday though Sunday next year.
Me...it's my usual Tues. thru Fri. stay. After the Cigar Salon, there's just that much I wanna do there anymore unless I get something done to my car [dunno which one will be going...probably the S since the Cooper went this year]. I'd LOVE to bring the wife's S, but I'd have to kill her to get the keys away from her! :cornut:
Washed the exterior, looked at the dirty engine. Then decided to remove those pesky unsightly decals and preserve them.
I drove mine through the local downtown cruise in. I saw a bugeye sprite headed that way. They either didn't stop, or didn't park on main street. I really wanted to check it out. I might jump off the tetanus express and head back over and walk around.
Today I cleaned my car from the trip back from MOTD yesterday. Lots of vacuuming inside and Steel wool #0000 on all the outside windows. Soaked and washed the car and rims and parked it back in the garage until it's time to clean the paint deeper. I will also need to remove my Red and White front bumper for a re-spray and some thick 3M clear vinyl.
The little mini successfully jumped off the 460. It will probably use more gas idling while the battery charges than the mini used last week. Oh well, burnouts are fun.
Better not lose them or throw them away...it will be tough to sell your car without them...especially the one with serial numbers.
