Turned 22,280 days when I woke up, and then turned 36,000 miles on the way to work - a day to celebrate!!
Re-installed my newly powder coated JCW strut brace. Then drove to work this morning covered in frost..... The car too
I got my MINI back today! 5 days later. They think they may have fixed the iPod integration, but honestly, who knows. They were baffled. They are still not 100% sure if is my iPod or the car. But they've put in a lot of hours trying. At one point I stopped in and my car was in pieces... Kinda disturbing to see. Anyway, I'm back in the sadle
Nathan you better slow down there. With every mile you add you lose value, but gain more fine patina. I'm thinking we need to do another drive to clear the cobwebs off that odometer. Tom will need to his break-miles on the new Coupster too. I looked at the frost on mine & go depressed because the new garage is not yet arranged & the heater is not yet installed, or even purchased. Any idea's on garage heaters? I have 200 sq ft to heat & want to use electric heat.
I had the trailer at the track last weekend in the rain, so it got aired out last night and I finally got all of the tools and normal kit that normally lives in the boot back in place (emergency kit, jack, blanket, ice scrapers, oil, etc). Ive got 4 new Kuhmo SPTs waiting for me at a local tire shop, but they won't work on my MCS because I have wheel studs, so the track tires went on and the daily drivers went into the back seat. The laptop bag went in the boot and a bicycle for the office toys for tots went into the passenger seat. It's quite impressive what will fit in the MINI.
Washed the all the carp of a weeks driving off. Then I changed out the gas struts that hold the hatch out. It kept falling on my head in cold weather. Only took me a year to get around to it.
Stared at the factory NAV and thought about what to put in its place. After driving home now twice using it and it showing me off route and in a field I think it is time for a change? :frown2:
Busy MINI Day here today.... Filled the tank, well 10 gallons was all it needed. It's been a month since the last fill, I figured it was time. Washed it. Removed about 150 pounds of crud, it's zippier now Fixed a slow leak in a tire And an oil change. Also turned over 62, 106 Miles.
Just visited the guys up at Discount Tire. They won't work on my car as it has the racing studs instead of the stock lug bolts, but they mounted my new set of Kuhmos. I'll put 'em on tonight. It will be nice to have tread again! Kuhmo SPT 215/45/17 This is my second set of Kuhmo SPTs. They are Kuhmo's highest performance extreme summer tire... not good for you folks up north, but they work just fine in Dallas and our 1 or 2 snow/ice storms per year. I got 35k miles off of the last set, which is better than I've ever done before (18k on the stock run-flats), so I'm pretty happy. They grip beautifully in the spring/summer/fall and handle water well. I left that last set of SPTs on for a bit too long, but I wanted 'em on the car for a track weekend, just incase of rain so I could finish off what little tread was left and I was given two full days of rain on the track, so they got a good work-out. Discount Tire matched the price from Tire Rack ($99 each), plus I didn't have to pay for shipping, so I was pretty happy.
