I went for a little exercise spin this afternoon. Look closely at the hills in the background and you'll view the latest of the many fires we've been having out here. While it doesn't look like much from 30 miles or so away, it's approximately 1800 acres burning. I used to work up in that area for nearly 20 years and am happy to now be retired.
My wife and I drove over to MAG, traded in her 2011 Countryman S and picked up her brand new Countryman S All4.
did the noise maker delete before leaving for work. BIG difference in cabin noise. I planned on installing my GFB DV+ at the same time, but I found it impossible to get the old one out. Anyone with an N14 that has the warranty replacement turbo heat shield and turbo oil line who has installed a DV+ successfully?
GFB DV+ ? I'm guessing it's a diverter valve, but I'm not familiar with the brand or model. I did install a Forge DV/BOV on my N14. Easy 20 minute install using a BSH Dual Tap for the vacuum activation line. If the GFB is anything like my Forge unit you will be happy with the change.
I won't believe it until it is out of MAG's inventory and there is photographic proof that it isn't in your garage!
This weekend I finished assembling and fitted my new JCW Aero bumper and polished the hood and the rest of my car. Now it looks good again.
I'm seeing a "Happy Face" on that MINI.... It's saying.... I got a major Spa treatment out of it and I'm ready to do it again next Spring at the Dragon... "Bring on them rock chips".... Lookin good Dave...
On Saturday, replaced the original front LCA bushings that had nearly 90k miles on them with some Powerflex bushings. Huge difference. Also, new Zimmermann brake rotors and EBC Red pads all the way around along with a fresh fill up of DOT 4 brake fluid.
Everybody knows red is faster. Especially if it has black eyes. Contrasts well with one of my guitars. Hey Dave.o wanna borrow my guitar?
Yesterday, a fellow MINI driver was driving his girlfriend's R56 cooper when it developed a misfire. Car went into limp mode so he parked at my place for the day. I helped him check it out and decided one of his sparkplug wires (with the coil inline) had failed. We swapped it from the #2cylinder to the #3 and the code came out for #3 cylinder. Told him it should be okay to drive home in limp mode and told him to get a new cable. He texted me back MINI dealer (stealer) wanted $100 for one. So he ordered a Bosch one from Amazon for $30. Amazing! It arrived this morning. Car is fixed!! I told him Bosch is likely the OEM for them and he checked the original MINI one and it had Bosch on it.
