Welded a new flex joint into my header, and added a bung for wideband O2. Did the under-car engine connections on the Stroker, and filled the tranny with Eneos gear oil. Hope to get it running tomorrow...
Put track numbers on the windows and my name over the drivers door. MITM track day, here I come. Scooter is looking clean enough, all checked out, hope the tires last.
Filled oil and coolant. Got to use my nifty Schwaben coolant system evacuation tool. Installed header. Routed wiring for wideband and EGT sensors. Futzed around with a slave install, but more to do on that tomorrow. Didn't get to the point of starting it... but am very close... TOMORROW....
Scraped off some old decals to make space for the RMW ones Jan gave me for the R50 and the R53 at MOTD, and I added some pertinent ones to my wife's R53.
"We" went to my new office for first team meeting with Coldwell Banker Team Fontayne!!! Made sure Rogue was spotless but alas, the sprinklers had run by the time I got out....Aaaaarrrgghhh!!!
installed fuel tank breather valve yesterday. Runs like with the old one, but hey, who knows, one less part that could be related to my misfire. Also spent another $130 at Harbor Freight, almost exclusively on supplies for bolt extraction and brutal force removal (25" 1/2" drive breaker bar, new high powered angle grinder, left hand drill bits, ez-outs, etc...). Trip to and from Harbor Freight was the longest drive since I had the misfire and the car runs fine. Added some HEET to the gas, too, just in case it was full of H20
Took half of yesterday all the way through Sunday off work to get the Rat-MINI show worthy... Saturday is the car show at MITM, and the 23rd is one of the biggest shows in Colorado (The KBPI Rockin Car Show), I will be attending both in hopes of collecting a couple trophies this summer. Wish me luck!
Egad, man...here you have tried to eliminate all the excess weight from your car and now you apply all those magnetic stickers! I'll bet the lovely lady has put on 5#! :ihih:
Finally got my ABS sensor today, since my old one decided to snap for God only knows what reason. Gotta get the trifecta out of my head, it's killin' me.
What I did to my non-MINI yesterday was let the dealer give me a free service, new earl & brake fluid flush. Met up with a MINI owning friend there & went for an Amish lunch. Decided to do a bit of car shopping while I waited for the oil to drain. Thought I might trade in my Miata on one of these. So many great cars to chose from. I settled on the black, red & white one, but couldn't reach an agreement. Even when I added my house into the trade it wasn't enough....
She passed airbag light was on but was a loose cable, there was a little bit of play in the drivers wheel and my headlamps needed adjusting. Going to need to get some new lights though as both the manual adjusters have broken so means an upgrade time! Thinking either angel eyes or xenons
