Let Sömmerdämmerung have a rain-bath today. First in a few months (as my neighbor's lawn will attest).
Picked mine up from Best this evening. All better. FYI: yet ANOTHER vacuum leak caused by the powdercoat on my sc horns. Not saying that move was the worst MINI decision I've made, but it's right up there. Oh, and swapped out my MSD coil for OEM.
Still having issues with the boot leaking, had to dry out the battery compartment again Put in a new starter, hoping to solve my starting issues and nothing changed.:frown2: Aaaaaand finally ordered a new ignition switch, fingers crossed.:biggrin5:
Yeah, heard that was a common issue. But my brake light seems to be sealed properly. Somehow it's leaking underneath the trim where the hatch's latch is.. :mad2:
Have you replaced the seal? Also maybe the rear hatch needs to be adjusted. When I got mine back from the body shop I had to tweak my hatch a little.
This isn't so much of a what-I-did-with-my-MINI-today post so much as a what-I-did-with-my-MINI-this-past-week post. Last week, I drove the hubs and I to Napa for our 10 year anniversary. Walked around with a happy buzz for two days and ate way too much. A couple of days ago, I took my dad for an extended drive. He recently acquired my sister's MINI (she moved to NYC and has no need of a car there) and called me last night specifically to ask me a million questions about my exhaust and where I got it... And...this morning I stopped for gas on the way to work. While I was pumping, some half-toothless guy who looked to be quite a bit older than I am (not that there's anything wrong with that) pulled up in a beat-up 90's Ford Taurus across from me. He asked me how I was doing and I responded politely...and then he proceeded to tell me that he thought I went to high school with him. I laughed and told him, "I don't think so," and then he proceeded to ask me 50 questions about my MINI. I tried politely to tell him to have a good day so I could leave, but he kept talking. I eventually had to just get in my car, shut the door, and drive off...the guy was not shutting up. Apparently Chevron is now the place to meet chicks.
Happy Anniversary Stefanie!! Sounds like your Dad is turning into a Mini addict, way to go! Wow who know Chevron is the happening place.:lol:
