Heard on the radio this morning that Chevron inadvertently put 87 octane regular gas in their premium gas pumps. So all you MINI drivers in British Columbia who use Chevron premium should notice a distinct lack of power, and bad fuel mileage in your cars this week. On the other hand, that usually happens whenever Chevron changes their gasoline formulation from Summer to Winter or Winter to Summer. I don't think the 94 octane Premium Supreme was affected. Good thing I filled with Shell premium (no ethanol) gas this week.
That was me.... I was just being nice... I even waved at you.... Happy anniversary Stefanie.... My wife and I eloped.... Got married in the little town of Sutter Creek.... We celebrated our 28th anniversary two days ago...:ihih:
Yup... The place where we were married was in the back garden of the Foxes Inn... They are still in business, which I'm happy to see... Sutter Creek Bed and Breakfast | Gold Country Hotel | Sutter Creek Lodging | The Foxes Inn
Sutter Creek!!! Geeze, what a small world. I used to spend my summers up in that part of the Gold Country. My Aunt and Uncle used to own the Sutter Creek Beer Garden, and they owened half of the town of Amador City... I polished my first fire engine in that little town. What great family memories!
Rolled the Mini out of storage so my detail guy could give it a once over. Then, rolled it back into storage. Talked said detail guy into doing the "Penetrol" treatment on the black plastic trim, ala Dave.0 for me next week. Should be able to start driving it again in another week or so.
Soooooo, I got a package from FedEx today. Didn't know what for at first. Also didn't know they delivered on Saturdays... Turned out to be the ignition switch I ordered on Thursday  Fingers crossed here. Hoping to fix my issues sooner than later. Also looking for fabric for a new headliner
Today, I found my 4th. rock chip... Then I washed the bugs off. Then I 'drooled' over the pictures of my coolant tank. THANKS, Dick...
vetsvette, that movie is also one of my all time favorites! Today I put new front rotors on my classic Mini, the old ones weren't particularly worn, but they had large pits in them from sitting out in the rain (my guess) Changing them isn't particularly hard, it took about 20 minutes a side. I also had to raise the front end up a bit, the left front tire was rubbing the edge of the wheel well on certain turns. I set the right side first, then when I went to the left I found out why - the adjuster knuckle was bent. I think I have a spare one in my parts somewhere if the thread is the same, otherwise I'll be ordering a couple from across the pond.
Yep it is! Took the boys to see it as soon as it came out. They kept saying he was like Papa John My step Dad. Its his Indian I am restoring. He was a great guy!
Today I did with my MINI... absolutely nothing. But I did drive my BMW to VIR, and drove some healthy "parade" laps during lunch break. Watched Mark Dissen drive the pants off his Lotus Evora the rest of the day.
I know Mark as a member of C3M, he had a JCW then sold it for an Elise, then sold the Elise for another MINI and then he got his Evora and I think he might still have a JCW, he's a car guy for sure.
Replaced the clock spring on my R53. Added airbag resistors to the clock spring. Now to refinish my M7 carbon fiber scoop as its faded beyond belief. Worst $400 ever spent. All my CarbonMINI stuff is still looking great. Maybe I'll just paint it.
