Drove the Porker to Erin's place at 5:00AM... Jumped in her R57 (Snowflake), and proceeded to go on a 14 hour road trip, never leaving the state... (Couldn't leave Colorado as a stipulation of my parole ) We watched the sun come up over Dillon lake... Went over Independence Pass... And down into Aspen for breakfast... Also walked through the John Denver Memorial Park for quite a while, taking pictures and stuff... Then put the top down and headed for some of the most spectacular scenery I have ever seen! Caught this one as a final pic on the way home... It was an amazing day, and I am one lucky guy!
Never bring a knife to a gun fight, its not fair to the guy with a gun. I have seen guys that have tangled with knife fighters. I thank I would rather be shot. Your chances of survival are higher.
Beautiful day...beautiful girl...beautiful MINI...what more could you ask for? You are one lucky guy...
Yeah that drives me crazy too on those rare times when I'm driving Laura's F56 and have to fill up. Seems like a random thing to move from one generation to the next.
Just drove home from work, and hit a deer. Or rather what was left of it. A semi in front of me hit the deer, and I barely had time to swerve when I hit the carcass on the passenger side of the Justa. After I pulled into the driveway, I took a brush and a bucket of hot water to clean off the blood and meat. Couldn't see anything major, but I'll put it onto the ramps in the morning to take a closer look.
Hopefully you won't find anything and then you can play the lottery 'cause you're one lucky son of a gun !!
Well, I seemed to have dodged a bullet there. I just put the Coop up on the ramps, and can see no major damage. In fact, the only thing that I can see is that the black trim/spoiler under the front bumper has popped out of it's joint with the side wheel arch trim. I must have swerved just enough, plus I hit the deer at it's narrow end and not the rump. Goldsmithy. Yep, there is still blood/meat all the way from the front to the rear (mostly on the jacking points). I'll call in at the local car wash on the way to work and spray the car off.
Do a good job at the car wash or the neighborhood dogs will be extremely fascinated with your MINI...
Well, my patience is finally being rewarded. USPS is delivering some new Cravenspeed bits today. Garmin GPS and Scangauge II mount, stubby antenna, and new shift knob on this trip. New JCW Pro all weather floor mats are due Friday. I know I don't have a JCW, but the guy that ordered the car ordered the JCW interior option which includes JCW sills, steering wheel, and shifter knob and boot. Today I ordered a set of the Mini mud flaps. I had them on my R56 and liked them so this was a no-brainer for me. Next week I'm planning to order the Cravenspeed intake and the NM Engineering power module. Now, if someone would make a reasonably priced exhaust system I would be set. I'm helping my buddy complete the installation of his new lift this week so I thought I'd let him help me with some installation work. All I can really do is hold the tape measure and levels to get it squared up, but I'm sure he couldn't get it done without my expert supervision. After all he was only a Major. Gotta have a Senior NCO to make sure thing run smoothly and the beer doesn't run out.
The 2016 Countryman is getting closer, off the coast of Baja California, due into Oxnard on Friday. I suspect they will not unload until Monday, unless they have to drop some BMW/MINIs in the Portland/Seattle area. Not sure if all get dropped at Oxnard, does anyone know? Don
I know of a company that will be making an exhaust for the F56S - price remains to be seen, but the product is top notch.
