Wow, snow on Wed and bright sunshine and warm on Sunday - I love Colorado! I drove a friend down to her job in Mid Town KC in Buzz so she could work while I do some repairs to her 2008 MINI, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and perfect for a drive in a Classic Mini....
I took it to a car show here at home. I'd love to show you pictures, but for some reason it won't let me load them. Oh well... Well, ok, a day later I got one to load on this post. Must'a been that red moon thing yesterday.
Had a great drive Saturday with a few friends. You know, It's a good idea when driving the back roads of south east Ohio in an import to have a "Don't tread on me" badge. The "good old boys" see it and wave. An American flag badge would work also, a rebel flag badge even better.
Custom catback in full stainless. 2 resonators where factory muffler/resonator is with DTM upturned, slash cut tips. All for the low, low price of the cheapest premade catback.
Great! No droning, but very loud. The overrun on the 05/06 models (this is an 06) sounds like gunshots which grabs maybe too much attention haha. I'll post up some driveby videos or something later this week. Getting ready for h2oi in OCMD
Drove the Mini to pick up my Grandson at his school. While there, I picked up a boot full of Krispy Kreme donuts that he sold for a fund raiser. Thank goodness my Daughter had to deliver them. It was worth driving in the rain for some Krispy Kremes though. When I got home I ordered a couple more goodies from Cravenspeed.
Jones, I was going to use vibrant but was told these are very similar for much cheaper by the mandrel bending shop. They sound exactly the same, so no complaints.
Met 'ModFather' for a pizza and refreshment, picked up the wing he prepped for my friend to take to Italy. Nice little wing, did you know the wing from an R53 is a just a bit longer that the wing on the R56. Glad this one is going on an 02 R50. Also, an old HS friend just picked up an 02 MCS pure silver and black for his driver in California when he visits from his home in Thailand. Looks clean and appears to be a well cared for 100K + MINI. He has the skills to work on it when he is stateside. Here is a link to some of his work in the past, some of you bike fans might know his old shop. Rick Kappe's 2005 Custom Chopper | Hot Bike
It was good meeting with you Don! And thanks! It's weird how almost all of the Rat-MINI's original parts are going to other countries... First Chris (RallyMINI) snagged some suspension parts for the rally car, and now the wing is headed to Italy... I need to start selling them with a clause that says I have to go and install them!
