Put on a seasonal Go Badge I can't seem to paste a pic in here. Check out my garage, put a pic in there of it
Two things today... 1) I saw a F56 MCS with really really skinny winter tires on steelies on my way to work today. It looked really strange. 2) My 2nd topside engine mount popped and leaked black stuff all over. :cryin: It's getting close to oil change time so I'll replace it when the time comes. Pictures to follow in a future post.
Beken, the best thing to clean the black goo up with is alcohol, nothing else really touches it..... I wonder who makes steel wheels that fit a new MINI? Wonder #2? How a MINI would look with steelies and moon hubcaps?
The hood stripes were cracking and discolored (second time that's happened), so I removed them. Very slight 'ghosting', not really noticeable. A good polishing may make it even less noticeable. Well, except for the 'thumb-sized' sliver of paint that came off because I was having to scrape with a nylon tool, and use a heat gun set on low to soften the glue. Touch-up paint hides that pretty well, but... Lots on stone chips, anyway. I'll see what I can do with making the patch less visible. PO'd that the MINI 2-part retouch kit I've never used had a dried up bottle of clear-coat. It's not a genuine MINI enthusiast post if you don't ***** about MINI somehow. ;-)
Late 90's-early 2k's civics have the same bolt pattern and hub size as first and second gen MINIs, steel wheels should be pretty cheap and easy to find.
Well, I decided to give my 70 a little sprucing up today. I tried some of my new DoDo Juice goodies I got a couple weeks back, experiencing a very nice result. Nuth'n too good for a celebrity.
Late winter solved a similar problem for me when it dropped tree-top across the bonnet. Insurance paid for a repaint - and the shop offered to paint on the bonnet stripes rather than replace the vinyl!
