    RE: AEM CAI

I have driven it in torrential downpours. Never had a problem. After worrying about it the first time I drove it in the rain, I never gave it another thought. I did think to check the dry filter element after a 70 mile drive in the rain... Still dry. If it was going to give me a problem it would have done so when driving 4 1/2 hours back from my girlfriends in Asheville, NC. Sleet and light snow until the last hour. Then rain. Never missed a beat. And yes, it was my daily driver. Had 129K miles when I traded it.

And that is when you will find that mistake that evaded detection. :mad2: :biggrin5:

When I was a magazine Art Director, at least six people would review the proofs. A few weeks later, we would get a delivery of printed magazines, and a mistake would jump off the page and smack us in the face. One of life's great mysteries.

Any reason why my dash air vents won't work? Windscreen ones work but I'm getting chilly with the cold weather!

You'd be better off starting your own thread for this question.

I drove my MINI today. My office is on the second floor of my house. My MINI is currently my only car, and I have driven it 19,000 miles in three years of ownership. I don't drive it a lot, but it rarely gets driven in the rain, so I'm thinking it is a pretty happy MINI.

I did drive it to the liquor store in the next town today, since I can't buy liquor in my town, so I guess I could call that a noble mission. I'm thinking my MINI sees that as an adventure, kind of like prohibition times.

Tomorrow's mission, COSTCO. I need some good steaks and dog food. Something for everyone in the house.

Meh. Since becoming a homeowner, other things have taken a bit of priority. But as soon as I can get my hands on a ShopVac, that'll change.

Houses take time and money away from our cars. But I like it better than an apartment.

I found out if I press and hold the unlock button on my remote it will roll down all windows and pop open the roof :) Also found out about disco mode!(sounds cooler that it actually is)
Here's where I found this stuff. It's pretty cool:

I usually have my lights set to rotate colors, and am embarrassed to say that sometimes, I get distracted by the colors for a millisecond when I turn to check my blind spot. :arf:

My youngest always asks to pick a color just about every time she rides in the MINI. Our other vehicle is a Tacoma, which you would think she'd find more comfortable, but she prefers riding in the MINI, which is just so much more fun. :biggrin5:

I always have my lights on disco ball mode and that was one of the coolest things when I figured I could roll down the windows with my key fob

Didn't pick up the Mini again today. They just started re-assembling it. I could have picked it up late this afternoon, but with the shop being 80 miles away, I didn't want to get caught up in the rush hour traffic through Raleigh/Durham.
    Tomorrow... :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Once I pick it up the fun begins again. Diminished value claim. :mad2:

Had flat tire today. Turns out the air inlet valve had worked itself loose. I walked to a nearby gas station to see if they sold those valve tighteners. Nope. All they had were tire pressure gauges and food. So I went back to my office parking lot and looked for a screw driver small enough to fit inside the tire valve. Found my trusty Swiss army knife tool and managed to fit one of the tools inside the valve and tighten it. Pulled out the compressor from inside the boot and put it to work.

Yup. That was it. A loose valve.

Didn't know if it was a common thing or not like the trifecta (fixed now )
