I wish him well too Monica, but he is way too young for that sort of thing.

    Thanks Jim
Apparently these problems are becoming more common in early 40 year olds who were heavy into sports their whole life.

That I can understand. It is good that things have advance to the point they can take corrective action early, so he won't just have to walk funny like my generation.

My wife would tell you, it is a good investment, as you will be able to get more work out of him for a longer period of time. :D

I agree.... Nice change. I've always thought the JCW parts do a nice job transforming the look of the MINI. Did you do the shaving below the rear tail lights yourself? Very nice job....:D

Looks like you do your work in a parking garage..... any hassles from management, see any bodies being put in trunks, drug money transfers, gateway to the fourth dimension, etc.... You know, typical "late night" parking garage stuff, while you were doing the modding?....:D

    Thanks!
About shaving: I removed the red reflectors my self, my body shop did the rest together with body kit parts...
This garage belongs to condo complex and my "work area" is on P3, deep, deep down underground... Nobody bothers me when I work. And no "typical" stuff, sorry. This is "boring" Toronto, Canada:biggrin5:

Well, I took the car back to the dealer after I came home to find this oil slick on my garage floor :(

It looks like the MINI tech hasn't learned "righty righty"......

What was the cause Jeff? Sometimes when the filter is changed, a little oil will run down the side of the oil filter housing. The oil filter "O" ring can sometimes get damaged also.

Did the mechanic not tighten the drain plug?

If the o-ring went, there would be 2 quarts there... not 2 drops. Odds are that a bit of oil ran down when they took the filter housing off and finally dripped out once you got home or the plug is only finger-tight.

Pondered why the Service Engine Soon light came on. The code is PO441 and it's thrown it before. Last time was that little evap emission valve next to the passenger-side I/C horn. Can't even remember what was done to fix it and reset the idiot light.

    Anyone in the know?

Agreed. 2 quarts is a lot though. Hopefully we can all look down below before it has the chance to pump out that much blood. But, it does happen.

    TBD.

I didn't notice this until I got home tonight. I went straight back to dealer. They kept the car and I have a loaner.

I think it is more than a spill. I had the service done Monday and picked it up at closing. Didn't notice the oil Tues. night on the floor just parked on top of it. I noticed it tonight (Wed.) when I pulled in. I think that is why there are 2 stains.

Left the car idling in the driveway while I snapped the picture and got a 3rd stain in my driveway. :mad2:

Hopefully, it is just the plug and nothing more.

My only other concern is the CVT fluid. I had the CVT service done as well. I hope it is not transmission fluid. Oh well, we shall find out on Thurs.

Two mile stones tonight. It's the official 2-year anniversary of delivery of my Mini AND I crossed 56K miles. Sitting on a 28k miles/yr average. :D

Jeff my money is on something they spilled. I have never seen a loose drain plug, especially one that that dealer has put back in. Is that oil clean or dirty, looks dirty to me. When you pull the oil filter you can release a lot of oil down the back side of the engine if you don't let it drain a bit first. Flat rate mechanics are not going to wait.
