Just got back from my Buddy's house where he helped me install some parts I had laying around. The first couple of pictures are just gratuitous lift porn. Really nice lift for $1500. The next couple are of the before and after installation of Cravenspeed's Big Pair. Next is what it looked like under the bonnet before we started yanking parts. Next is the NM Engineering Power Module going in. Big hole there when the air box is removed. Then the picture of the finished product just before we installed the air duct. Intake is by Cravenspeed. And finally, my custom puddle lights. :biggrin5: I am really impressed with the Power Module. Motor really pulls hard. I have to actually pay more attention to what I'm doing running through the gears. It spins the tires way too easily when I hit second gear. I'm not talking about chirping the tires, I mean they will break traction completely if I'm not careful. It's supposed to run better after I put 20 or so miles on it. Only drove ten on the way home.
That rear stock brace looks like something you'd get at Home Depot for a deck project. Just a basically flat piece of galvanized metal. The new braces look much better. Too bad no one can see them.
Bought me a 2006 R53.... (Yes I've been Deflowered) "My First Mini" Always wanted one..... Thank You Wife!!!! Now For The Mods.... Signed, I'm Such a Noob....
Not today, but yesterday I went Golfing, spent the day going over hill & dale on Ohio back roads with a good friend. First exploration of the Eric's Riverrun 2016 roads. We even discovered a new to me donut shop! Man I'm so lucky to have such wonderful roads so close to the old folks home I live in. What a splendid day in my MINI substitute.
Crashton, I'm looking to do a nice drive one last time before I put my 05 up for the winter. Got another one in mind?
I got the CravenSpeed Fixie Mount for my phone and put that on there. Super easy to install, it took 5 minutes. Its freaking great, at first i was skeptic about paying more than $50 for a phone mount but really... this is completely worth it seeing i don't have to worry about stupid suction cups or stuff getting in the way of my vision on the windshield. I'll add a photo of it on my garage pics.
drained perfectly good Redline transmission oil and pumped in the purple Synchromax. While at it, removed rear wheels, lubed anti swap bar, then when car was on jack stands and the tailgate was open, the garage door opened.... 1 foot deep scratch in hatch. Depression set in. 10 years and no mark on the car, now, for a completely unimportant job, I mess up the car so much that I need to get the hatch repainted.
I opened up my garage door so my MINI could see it raining! It is, after all, somewhat unusual. I'm in complete control of the opener...
