Last night I "prepped" the MINI for dog transport to the vet for her chemo shot. My MINI is usually a "dog-free" zone, so I had to get it ready.... Don't judge me people... I'm a little OCD about my car:
If you plan to do this often, they have removable barriers that pop in and restrict the dog to just the back of the car. We use one in the SUV. Jim Dog & Pet Barriers / Travel Accessories
LOL- thanks, but I don't plan on it.... the only reason the MINI is being used is because David can't drive for 2 weeks (and his car scares me), and the Jeep and the truck are not completely road-worthy right now. I was really laughing when I was doing this last night.... made me realize what a nut-job I am
Looks like Metalman is the winner with "damaged O ring". Just got the call from dealer. They found a nick in the o ring and that was the cause. Said all is good now. Chuck, I cannot explain the color. What color is fresh synthetic? I agree this is a little dark for 2 days old.
That clean new synthetic picked up old gungy carp off the back of the engine & cross-member on its way to branding your driveway. Man you would thing the dealer could do an oil change without screwing up. :frown2: That is the kind of stuff you get at the local Iffy Lube franchise.
Brought my header to the powder coater again, actually a different guy, doing the 1700 deg this time Still think I'll wrap it also?
S/C service I drove it!! After doing oil service on the S/C and new thermostat, ect. Thanks to agranger for the how-to in the Library. [/IMG] [/IMG]
Did anyone else notice the perfect cut-outs for the air vents? That gave me the biggest laugh. Well... that and the thought that when the dog pukes from the combination of the car ride, the vaccinations and the excitement of the vet's office, it will no doubt (given Murphy's law) go right into the air vent... Which reminds me of when my brother-in-law found a stray kitten in the gutter of a street when driving home one day. He picked up the little guy and, on the ride home, the kitten crawled into the dash of his Jag S-type. It took the mechanics 2 hours to disassemble the car and retrieve the kitten. On a happier note, they kept the cat and named him "Dash".
I actually wrapped around the vents If you look close, the mat has been turned up-side-down to keep it from getting scratched up. The appt was pushed back till next week sometime, so I will be driving around with it wrapped up for a while
On Car Talk, someone called and said, "My dog barfed down my truck's defroster vents, what should I do?" They answered, "Sell the truck!" Dave
I installed 2 new bulbs to light the rear license plate. One of 'em had burnt out and was spotted during my annual state inspection, but luckily Texas only requires one light for the plate, so I still passed. I figured that if one had died, the other was probably soon to go so, for another $2.50, I could afford to replace 'em both.
Of course there is... Texas Department of Public Safety - Inspection Criteria for the Annual SAFETY Inspection Choose the Vehicle Class and then Item, you get a full report on what is inspected.
I picked up 4 16" wheels with tires on them, all upright in the back seat. I knew they'd fit in my '06 MCS cabrio after seeing Blimey do it, but it was still surprising. They're dirty, but they're used. Got them nice and cheap (compared to just new 17" tires!) to replace what's left of the tires I'm currently running. Busted up strut mount has led to a smooth as a baby's butt tire, a curling tire, and a partially bald tire. Still had one good one left. Project for next week: installing Ireland fixed camber plates, once they arrive from Way. Ordered the M7 strut brace tonight too. Project for tomorrow: drive my husband batty and wash and clay MINI May down so she's nice and shiny.
