I challenged my mechanical abilities today...and installed a 'Craven" dipstick in my 05, r52S. Everything went well, :)

Since my MINI is in winter hibernation mode until Spring, I hooked up my battery Charger/Maintainer/Desulfator today... I probably should add some gas treatment as well...

Studied all night for a blood test today. Took my MINI out for a good winter run and it started snowing WTF.

Looks like I will be washing my car this weekend.

Oh I also had to haul a new queen size box spring around the house in the snow drifts to the 2nd floor back deck. All because it would would not make the turn up the stairs from the 1st to 2nd floor.

My neighbor thought I was doing a Rocky 4 workout.

You should have gotten a split box spring.

Found my new, winter, DIY car wa(r)sh to get all this week's salt off.

Even managed to make it home without hitting any major puddles of melting $#!t.

Immediately tucked it in the garage to keep'er clean.

The lines at our car wash were round the block both yesterday and the day before, but I managed to find one that wasn't backed up too badly and got my Clubman wa(r)shed too......nice to get most of the layers of salt off before the next storm hits......

Took the Rat up Lookout Mountain today... Ran into some fueling issues that are going to need sorted out.

But did have a nice chat with a nice old Japanese guy and his wife at the pull off I took this picture in... He loves what I have done with it, looked the car over for about 10 minutes, swapping stories. Then they got in their 800HP Supra and headed up the hill.

Took mine out of the storage building in anticipation of my car wash guy dropping by Monday. Supposed to be nice with a high in the 60's. Gonna get it spiffed up inside and out and it'll get the first coat of wax since the body work was done in late October.

It's been 11 years and I noticed some oil wetness on my engine around the oil filler cap. So I guess it's time to get a new one. No problem. Drive into Vancouver to the MINI dealer there and asked the parts person for a new oil cap.

Who would've thunk they don't have oil caps in stock and need to order them in? They said they could order it in for next week sometime.

I think the MINI dealers in the Vancouver BC area are not as good as they used to be. What's going on?
