I'm going for a ride. Gotta stop by the local diner and pick up lunch to take to a friend that had his shoulder replaced last Tuesday. He's 84 and just had a knee replaced last year and he still works full time. I want to be a tough as he is when I grow up. Anyway, it's a beautiful day for a drive, and he lives a little farther out in the boonies than I do, so it should make for a nice afternoon.

Not my Mini, but a Mini engine nonetheless - I'm building it for a friend. I mounted it to my engine stand from the side - I've mounted them from the flywheel end before but that restricts some of the assembly you can do. This should work just fine, time to send it out to be hot tanked....
Took the Porker up to Flagstaff Mountain this morning hoping to get some frosted tree pictures of last night's snow, but no luck. All the snow had already fallen off of them when I got up there, but I was able to get some good shots hanging out on the rocks. Even spotted some Minions! Then came home and continued working on de-crapping the garage...
When I have something to feel good about, I see the world a little differently, and pass that on with the pictures I take. Let's hope it keeps up!
Got the Mini spiffed up today and it was such a beautiful day, I thought I'd ride out to my summer cottage and make sure the pipes didn't freeze.
A group of us took a drive up to Stave Lake Dam. Some great fun was had going around the mountainous switch backs and s-curves. Until it started to snow then we got a bit concerned about the GP making it back, so we headed back to Vancouver. Then we filled up on the way back because the price of gas is about 17cents a litre (about 45cents a gallon) cheaper than Vancouver due to a region tax.
Beats me. Door was locked so I left. Let the maintenance crew handle it. Really cool place. When I was growing up there was only a caretaker living there. Being the kid that I was at the time the old gentleman looked to be about a hunnert years old. He and my Dad took me all through the place and even with my short attention span I was fascinated. Now it's this, but at least it's maintained the way it should be. The place originally consisted of 105,000 acres. Berry Hill Resort & Conference Center - Berry Hill Resort
Froze it! Got a little over a foot of fresh snow... Nothing like doing 70 sideways on the way to work!
Finished upgrading the brakes last night with Clubman S calipers, SS lines, ceramic pads, slotted rotors, and ATE fluid. I might do the brass guide pins in the future, but I'm not sure why they aren't available for the front calipers. I'm still on the fence about painting them red and adding JCW logos. The caliper carriers are really different and I don't have the time to make the decals. The only decals I found for sale are white, and they should be silver.
