Spent the afternoon chauffeuring my Grandson around. Beautiful day for motoring. Noticed this when I parked after coming home.
Drove to a very rural part of Texas this afternoon where the paved road ended and gravel for as far as the eye could see lay ahead of us. Carefully drove 5 mph to avoid any damage from kicked up rocks, but could do nothing to avoid the dust that coated our midnight black F55. Took Vader immediately to the local car wash where an attendant took an extra long time drying Vader... Upon completion she motioned me over. Immediate concern began to fill my head! I thought she was on the verge of tears! Did she break something, was there a huge scratch? She then began telling me (in Spanish) that she looks forward to seeing Vader each weekend and hopes to someday own one just like it! We spoke for a short while more about Vader before I drove home. I wondered how many cars these attendants see each day and how many other cars generate these sorts of encounters... Now get to figure out how to repair a spot that looks like bird droppings have eaten away at the clear coat. Any suggestions?
I'm down at the shop changin earl and earl filter on my daughter's v-hickle... Went back and checked on my MINI... Battree charger is doin its thang.... All is well... Comeon Spring... Git springin... Need to git me some new sparkin plugs and do a change out... Plannin to do an earl and filter change out soon as well.....
Washed both Countryman this weekend, my 16 was covered in magchloride from last Sunday. Hydro to the rescue.
This is getting to be a bad habit. Was hoping they could just drop in a new battery and I'd be on my way. Seems with the service backlog, it'll be a week before they can change my battery. Negotiating for a little consideration as I bought three cars from this place.
Well that sucks.... They need to step up their customer service... It's really not hard to change out a battery.... Your's went bad from a 2011... Mines still on the original 2009 JCW... Of course I also use a battery maintainer that has a de-sulfide program it runs...
Ok I know everyone is going to have kittens when I say this, but I got my battery from Walmart. Yep Walmart there I said it! its now a couple years old and going strong. I did paint the top red so it would look cool!
Not the original battery. This one's about 22 months old. As they usually do, the dealership did come through for me so I really can't complain too much as they just now secured a rental for me at no cost to me.
I put a little distilled H2O in the Qvale battery and attached the trickler. Out on the road tomorrow morning for a spin in the 70 plus weather.
Not on the second gens... at least not without cooking the new battery in short order. They have to have a computer reset with new battery install, because the computer ramps the alternator output over time to compensate for the age of the battery.
Yes and No.... The system is called the BMW IBS and not all MINI's got it from the factory... If there is a small circuit attached to the negative battery clamp you have it. If it's missing you don't have it (Mine doesn't have it)... Realoem lists both cables..... Guess which one costs $215.00 to replace... And if you are curious.... The non IBS has a price of $38.56 More info on the IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor).... BMW IBS - Intelligent Battery Sensor - What Is It, What Does It Do? - Atlantic Motorcar
