Years ago my mom had a motor recall on her Acura RDX. The dealer forgot to put oil back in. Needless to say mom didn't get very far down the road when the engine died. I had to talk to the district service manager to finally get the engine changed instead of just a few parts replaced.

While my MINI qualified for the free oil change and filter program, I would always pop the bonnet and do a quick oil level check out in the lot before I drove off.... For just that reason....

I hate to have "other" people messing with my vehicles... Although I never found an issue, I have found some nice wrenches left in my engine bay... So it was evident to me that full attention was not always present during the work...

Gotta love free tools :) ^

Got my first 'low tire' notification from Bitsy today.. The whole time I had run flats it didn't come on once. I kinda hoped it was disabled or something :) But after about 2 weeks with new rubber on a cold morning she threw one it at me first thing, she's such a bit$% when it's cold out.

I think it was less like machining and more like devouring it's own parts. I pretty much trust my dealer to do a good job. They are the ones that replaced the timing chain cassette on my '07 R56 and they did a great job on that. Timing chain was still sewing machine quiet when I traded it in. They didn't even bat an eye about changing the whole assembly out even though I had over 100K on the car at the time. This was a good faith job and not a Mini USA or court ordered job. With the miles on mine I wouldn't have been eligible for the extended warranty that the class action mandates anyway. Flow Mini of Raleigh has always treated me well and their parts department is great about giving me good prices including a club discount and a military discount. I'll still use them for all warranty work, but because of the high labor rates will continue to use my Independent Mini Tech for elective work.
Well, that was ten minutes of typing without saying much... guess I do need that fourth cup of coffee. Y'all have a nice day.

    Couple of things.....

First you can have that tire pressure nanny coded to be off. See blue haired Mike at Helix when at the dragon.

Second stick with your dealer vetsvette, you have a good one there. A good dealer makes all the difference.

I got my new Wheels, Tires and Wheel Studs installed.

I dropped down to 16's from my 17's and it makes it much easier to turn, as I don't have power steering.

Don't look at the Brakes! I have new parts ready to go on, just waiting for my calipers to get here.

Had a new PGW windshield installed. There were enough little cracks and numerous pits that it was worth the renewed clarity.

And for any of you folks near New Castle County, DE... Delaware Auto Glass on Old Baltimore Pike is recommended. Their attention to detail with our finicky cars is worth the free publicity and recommendation from me. They even had replacement A-pillar covers on hand, just in case.

The quality and clarity of the PGW glass is right there with Pilkington as far as I am concerned. Beats a heinous SafeLite replacement hands down.

Hope you take some pics at VIR. Don't just spend the whole time driving around in circles.

I'm taking my F55 loaner to my Credit Union in Danville this morning. Need to deposit a check so I can order new wheels for my F56. Maybe they'll be in by the time my dealer gets the new engine installed and returns it to me. :fingerscrossed: Since I'll pass VIR going and coming, I think I'll stop by and maybe catch a glimpse of Paul and his GPness. :D

Konig Runlite R1 in matte grey. Saves 6 pounds per wheel and the grey should look good with my Thunder Grey car.

Well, I made it out to VIR today. Got to talk to Paul for a few minutes between sessions and took a few phone pics of his car on Nascar Bend and going into Left Hook. Beautiful day at the track.

Changed the rear wiper motor, blade, arm, etc.
The 13 year old one had been leaking internally
and spitting ineffectively for a while.

As a few of you know, I had some tires installed and had sort of a nightmare experience with the shop. Well, following that tire install I had cleaned my wheels and came across some scrapes around the edges of the wheels. Contacted the shop, they had 3 of 4 repaired. Got the car back Saturday afternoon. Headed to a buddy's house after a day of polishing and primping this hot lil MINI with some freshly refinished wheels. I pull up in front of his house and thought it'd be fun to give one of those freshly refinished wheels a little curb rash...... Ya. It's been THAT kind of weekend...
