^^^ bummer man... I'm paranoid about curbs... Maybe get with the guy that worked on them and ask for that repeat customer discount....
Durn Qik. You must have been really bored if you couldn't come up with something better than that to do. Sorry to hear about that. I was going to order my new wheels yesterday, but when I went to the site I found another set that I think looks better. Can't make up my mind. the second set is a couple pounds heavier, but is 8" wide and if I decide to try 225 tires in the future the'll be a better fit. Still cogitating. First one is 17X7.5 and 17 pounds. Second is 17X8 and 19 pounds. Both are an improvement on the stock 17X7 and 23 pounds.
19 lbs aint bad at'all. May wanna ax the guys here if 8" with 225's will need spacers or not. As for my poor wheel... I messed her up good. In 2 spots. anyways... Good luck on your decision. Keeping in the spirit of the thread, Bitsy Mae and myself are headed up to Conyers GA for a MINI shoot. Gonna be a bunch of us up there.
So I went to the parts store to get some No not that but I know some of you got all excited....................you know who you are but I did get this It was maintenance day
Fixed my horn and airbag resistors (I had forgotten to plug the harnesses back into the clockspring). Might pick up the shift light from fes-auto.
For my .02 I like light wheels and ones that the spokes are recessed on the rim. It should be a real thrill to get a new engine and new wheels at the same time !!
Yep, I'm stoked. I ordered a set of OEM TPMS and a set of Goodyear F1 summer tires today. Gonna wait until I can talk to the folks before ordering the wheels. They come with lugs or bolts and I want to make sure they come with the correct ones. Also want to confirm the hub centric ring size since they are included too. I'll leave the F1 All Seasons on the stock wheels for winter use. Edit: Good thing I called. They were going to include the wrong hub centric rings. The sales guy somehow thought a 2 door hardtop was the same as a Countryman! Way different bore size on the rings. Got that straitened out and everything is on the way. Now, the wait. :drool
Went shopping, in the R53, for a new safe. Found it at Tractor Supply, but it'll require the Duramax to haul it home.
We put two baby seats in the 11 Countryman and gave the keys to the kids, that really made me nervous! Had to take both Countrymans to the airport last eve to pick up kids, grand-kids and luggage. Really was fun, glad I am not driving a Suburban or Tahoe or Jeep GC anymore. Don
On a whim this afternoon I called my dealer to check the status on my new motor. Service rep said it was being test driven as we spoke. They were however having trouble coding the rear fogs. Said they would check further and call me tomorrow. Since I have an appointment at the Durham VA Thursday I told them I would pick up the car instead of them delivering it. Five minutes after hanging up I got a call from the service manager to ask how my car was. He was under the impression that I already had it. Anyway, I explained about the rear fogs and he's looking into it and I guess I'll find out the results when I pick the car up. Oh yeah, the reason he called was to see if I got the customer service survey and if I had filled it out yet. We agreed that it was a tad premature to rate my service department experience. I'll take care of that after I get the car back. I wasn't expecting the new motor to arrive until tomorrow.
Not actually my Mini, but I'll be bidding farewell to this F55 S loaner when I pick my car up tomorrow. I will not miss those tiny doors. They are really starting to wear on me. Nice enough car except for the tiny doors and small wheels. Never driven one before that had every option block checked.
Well... If they weren't putting so dang many doors on it, the doors wouldn't be so dang small... Now... Of course MINI could simply make the body bigger.... You know... To allow for bigger doors... Nah.... They wouldn't really do that would they?
